Tell the ex-serviceman sleeping rough with mental issues that it's between Nationalism and Globalism.

Tell it to the old fella whose home care has been cut, or the cancer patient waiting months for a diagnosis.

They don't give a stuff about Nationalism and Globalism. They want proper funding for proper, caring services. End of.

Why has the ex-serviceman not got anywhere to live?

Because there are no council houses due to record immigration.

The NHS is overwhelmed for the same reason.

Globalisation.

Nonsense.

Council houses have been sold by the tens of thousands, and now belong to buy-to-let merchants.

The NHS has 60,000 EU nationals alone working for it.

And ex-servicemen are on the streets because their ex-employers take no responsibility for their mental health.

When did the mental health of ex employees become the old employers responsibility?

See what I mean about making stuff up.

Ex-council houses all belong to buy-to-let landlords, where is your evidence for that?

And immigration has put up house prices and rents 20% over the last 25 years.

Because the NHS has foreigners working for it that means we no longer have to treat foreigners? have you been in a hospital in the last 20 years? Or even to the GP surgery? The numbers are enormous.

And MungoBrush covered the last point, also the armed services treat victims of PTSD a lot better than they used to, though there's more to do, MDMA is looking promising as a treatment.

When the ex-employer has a duty of care as laid down in an act of parliament - for instance the Forces Covenant.

Did you really not realise this was the case ?

And to Ray of Sunshine - nearly is not good enough.

Homeless charities estimate there are about 13,000 ex-servicemen and women living rough. Many are reduced to sleeping in doorways, bus stops and parks, begging from passers-by.

And almost all are struggling with the devastating affects of PTSD, which often leads to other problems, including addictions to drugs and alcohol.

Here's my evidence.

Four out of 10 council homes sold under Margaret Thatcher’s flagship right-to-buy policy are now in the hands of private landlords, with their tenants paying more than twice the rent levels charged by local authorities.

Freedom of information (FoI) requests sent to 111 English local authorities by Inside Housing magazine reveal that 40.2% of housing stock sold by councils to then tenants are now rented out, rising to 70.9% in Milton Keynes, which it dubs the “right-to-buy-to-let capital” of England.

Still in denial ??

Why are they homeless though?

Because they are single men and single men can't get council houses.

If one of the ex-Taliban soldiers he fought turned up with a family of seven they would go to the top of the list for housing though.

They didn't originally go to buy-to-let though did they?

People wanted to buy their own homes, they did so but they were on council estates, migrants were moved in, crime went through the roof and they sold up and moved somewhere nicer.

Globalisation as I said before.

I'm glad those people were able to get away from government-forced diversity.

Number of council homes sold off under Right to Buy increases five-fold in six years after Tories lift cap

The rapid loss of social housing because of the Right to Buy scheme has been laid bare after new figures revealed more than five times more homes are being sold now than in 2012.

That's a more modern problem with people exploiting that system, and I know I sound like a broken record, many are foreigners.

That's also a problem with other properties being bought up by Russians, Chinese, Arab, one of the reasons house prices and rents are so high.

Globalisation again, that's what's responsible for almost all our problems.

Foreigners wouldn't be able to buy them if the Tories weren't flogging off our much-needed social housing at astronomical cost to the tax-payer.

Christ, another idiot who argues black is white.

Selling council houses was always going to result in a lack of low rent accommodation.

Blaming immigrants for the successive failures of various governments to replace those homes is frankly wrong.

Single men with mental health, drug and alcohol issues always either ended up in hostels or on the streets.

The idea that a young, single man could ever walk into a council house is a delusion - there would always be families with more priority, and that goes back 50 years and more.

Ray, there was a thread a few months back, can't remember what it was called, but it was fucking hilarious. Canny practically denied that immigrants use the NHS and that they only ever work for it.

He claimed immigrants were all 'young and healthy' and didn't go to the docs, ie never got ill, never needed to go into hospital, never needed to go to the dentists or opticians, and didn't make use of the NHS maternity facilities.

Try and find it, it's s corker!

The opticians part alone makes it worth a read - he said immigrants that needed glasses would already be wearing them when they arrived and didn't need to have eye treatment on the NHS!

Right to Buy is five times as expensive as building new homes

If the public sector spent that money more wisely it could build two new social rented homes (with a £60k subsidy each), plus build three new homes for shared ownership (with a £20k subsidy each) to help young families buy a home of their own.

We could get three new home owning families and two desperately needed rented homes for families on low incomes, rather than just one home that ends up private rented anyway.

And it is contributing to the slow death of home ownership.
