If you were the father, then you definitely have a right to a say.

To someone else's body?
I think not...

Yes - but it's likely to be 12 weeks in Ireland.
Good to see them finally reaching the 20th Century in this respect.

At what point does the unborn baby gain the same rights as any other born person?
At conception?
At birth?
Or at some point in between?

I'm all for educating people about responsible birth-control and family planning but enforcing it by law is wrong IMO.
Impressed that the Paddies seem to have finally set aside a thousand years of catholic dogma and voted pragmatically.
Now that just leaves Northern Ireland as the lone archaic backwater in Europe.

See that's what really winds me up.
By all means set up organisations which advocate your beliefs and try to persuade people to act in whatever way you think is appropriate if you really must.
Maybe some of those organisations would advocate proper planned parenthood and birth-control, maybe some could mediate between the prospective parents and I'm sure some would advocate medieval hellfire and brimstone for sinners too.
Just stop relying on "It's the law so suck it up".
Give people a choice and then use your words to try and convince people to act how you think they should.
