Got any proper references to back that up?

Just a reminder of Mungo's post, which I replied to showing three separate instances of "how that worked" under Tory chancellors - surely great references in his eyes ?

It appears he can't even remember what his question was.....

He was thrown out of DS and is just here to troll - worthy only of ridicule not engagement.

Just post a link to the econometric model that shows how you can reduce the government deficit and grow the economy at the same time.
Otherwise I'll just assume that you haven't a clue what you are talking about.

I made a general comment that the new Spanish finance minister might opt for growth rather than austerity.

Your demands since then have been frankly idiotic. You have been given examples where chancellors (three) from your own party have tried the same.

FFS grow up. You are making yourself look more silly with every post.

And stop using Googled references to economic terms. You are no economist, proven by the fact that you appear to support economic policies that have served the UK so badly for the last 8 years. Nor am I, come to that - but I never pretended to be, unlike you.

It will take more than a miracle to achieve what Cannydc is proposing.

But miracles happen - you suggested so yourself.

MungoBrush wrote:What got me thinking is that Corbyn said that he would never press that button
No British politician of any colour has ever said that before
I can imagine Jesus saying that

And there are other parallels as well

Jesus told everyone to pay their taxes
Jeremy wants to stop tax evasion

Jesus healed the sick
Jeremy wants more money for the NHS

Jesus spent his life teaching
Jeremy wants more state schools for all

Jesus fed the 5000
Jeremy wants to end poverty

Jesus was seen as a trouble maker by the authorities of the day
Jeremy has revolted against his party more times than any other MP

Jesus was adored by his disciples
And he did say that he would be coming back
Could Jeremy be the returning messiah?

Seeing as you also seem to know zilch about econometric models, here is a definition:

"Econometric models are statistical models used in econometrics. An econometric model specifies the statistical relationship that is believed to hold between the various economic quantities pertaining to a particular economic phenomenon under study. An econometric model can be derived from a deterministic economic model by allowing for uncertainty, or from an economic model which itself is stochastic. However, it is also possible to use econometric models that are not tied to any specific economic theory.[1]"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Econometric_model

These are standard tools used by economists in both governments and financial institutions to evaluate potential outcomes of employing various economic strategies.
All I want to see is the one that supports Cannydc's proposal for Spain.

Trying to look clever by cutting and pasting doesn't cut it Mungo - you're here to troll, pure and simple, as I've shown above.

Such as?

Such as the new Prime Minister of Spain who has a Doctorate in Economics
Such as Gordon Brown who has a Doctorate from Edinburgh University
Such as Ed Balls who obtained a 1st Class honours degree from Oxford before becoming a Kennedy scholar at Harvard specialising in economics
Such as Tony Blair who also graduated at Oxford before becoming a lawyer at Lincoln's Inn
Such as Yvette Cooper who graduated in Economics 1st class from Oxford than also went on to Harvard and then the LSE.

As I have stated previously, I only have a Masters Degree in Financial Economics
But it's enough to know that what some people post here is complete garbage.

Good question.
I didn't despise New Labour because, as many have said, their economic management principles was based on a strong understanding of the capitalist system, and, for all it's flaws, has proven over many decades to be the best system available.
But I did disagree with a number of their policies which highlights the differences in values rather than underlying economic understanding.
And I wasn't too keen on Ed Miliband as potential PM (he also went to Oxford then LSE)
And I do respect highly educated people because I know what it takes in terms of intellect and discipline to complete higher education.
In fact we would have shared much of the economic principles underlying learnings.

So, compare my examples of the educational qualifications of the New Labour front bench to the current crop running Labour.
This is why Corbyn must never get anywhere near No 10.
