U.S. Plans to Withdraw From UN Human Rights Council Today

Last I checked, we are still non members of the UN Human Rights Council.

Trump did sign an executive order today that will keep families together, unless there is some threat to the children. This should have been done in the first place. He played chicken with the Dems using kids as cards and he had to fold.

Trump used the words "undocumented immigrants" as opposed to "illegal aliens"?

I'm a bit skeptical of that.

Trump was talking about CS-13 gang members which guest well knows.

Do the Momentumites really think that constant hyperbole, exaggerations and distortions will win people over to their cause?

Or will people maybe think they lie about everything?

Probably best you ask Mungo - the self-acknowledged expert on everything and king of hyperbole, lying, spin and exaggeration.

U.S. Quits UN Human Rights Council, Saying It’s Anti-Israel

The Trump administration withdrew from the United Nations Human Rights Council on Tuesday, making good on a pledge to leave a body it accused of hypocrisy and criticized as biased against Israel.

“For too long, the Human Rights Council has been a protector of human rights abusers, and a cesspool of political bias,” Nikki Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the UN, said Tuesday at the State Department in Washington. She said the decision was an affirmation of U.S. respect for human rights, a commitment that “does not allow us to remain a part of a hypocritical and self-serving organization that makes a mockery of human rights.”

The 47-member council, created in 2006 and based in Geneva, began its latest session on Monday with a broadside against President Donald Trump’s immigration policy by the UN’s high commissioner for human rights. He called the policy of separating children from parents crossing the southern border illegally “unconscionable.”

She's just trolling now, surely. :dunno:

I thought Samantha Powers was awful but Nikki Haley takes it to another level. I suppose it's a fair representation of America though ...

There is no reach out beyond momentum now. They are just shouting hyperbole amongst themselves.

You saying it's not anti-Israel?

It's the country they've sanctioned more than any other.

It may not be perfect but there's many worse places, that certainly seems like unreasonable bias to me.

Israel: 50 Years of Occupation Abuses

Fifty years of occupation and decades of a fruitless peace process should put firmly to rest the notion that downplaying human rights will ease the path to a negotiated solution to the conflict, Concerted action for rights and accountability is urgently needed, including through the International Criminal Court.

There are many worse places on the UN HRC, which is why it's such a fucking joke.

There is a time to try to be part of the solution, and there is a time to no longer be associated with the problem.
