But even that is a typically disingenuous Tory statement...

He also said that until recently he thought government MPs would be given a free vote, which may help to explain why he was so specific in the promise he made to his constituents.

It certainly does.

Never, ever trust a Tory. If their lips are moving, they are lying. If they write a statement, they are lying. And if it comes from Tory HQ, they are double lying.

The expression is 'You can tell whether a politician is lying, their lips are moving'.

That is whatever party they represent.

We get it canny. You don't like Tories/the Conservatives.

See what happens when you get picky about a footnote, rather than reply to the actual post ?

I was replying to the post, at least partially.

No, you really weren't.

You were trying to be clever.

Yes, by being accurate, i.e. it's not just Tory/Conservative politicians that have a reputation for being liars, which was your original claim. Yes?

I made no such claim.

You do understand that calling a particular group of people 'liars' neither includes nor excludes the possibility of other groups also being liars, do you ?

Work that out first, then come back...

Yes, I know. But my point still stands.

You know that I wasn't making the claim that you said I was, but persist in making a point about it that is utterly irrelevant anyway ?

:off head: :off head: :off head:

Give it up, that train has already left the station. You missed it.

You were claiming that (most/all) Tories/Conservatives are liars. I'm claiming that most politicians if not all are, irrespective of party. So, why single out Tories/Conservatives? What's so difficult to understand about that. And apparently the Green Party candidate has never lied in her entire life. :woteva:

Because the post and the thread WERE ABOUT DISINGENUOUS TORY POLITICIANS.......

(Greg Hands, who resigned as an international trade minister last week so that he could vote against a third runway at Heathrow, told the World at One that he chose to resign, instead of doing what Boris Johnson is doing and finding an excuse to be away, because he made an explicit promise to his constituents at the election that he would vote against the plan.

He also said that until recently he thought government MPs would be given a free vote, which may help to explain why he was so specific in the promise he made to his constituents.)

He, like all TORY politicians, has issues with facts, reality and the truth.

Diverting that statement onto Labour, Greens or whoever simply smacks of 'whataboutery'.

Who the fuck cares, he’s resigned.
Cabinet ministers are falling faster than autumn leaves, 3 gone in less than 24 hours.
Who will be next, when will the general election be?

Hopefully October.

There won't be much infrastructure left to save if we don't get shot soon.

After March. They'll cling on until the bitter end.

Fun fact that I found out today. Liverpool despite being a traditionally deprived Northern city and therefore a leave voting area actually voted 58% remain.

The Sun is not sold there, coincidence?

Hopefully Boris is fucked enough now to be unable to make a meaningful comeback. Onward to a leadership challenge with Rees-Mogg as the victor - and a refusal to hold a GE until after Brexit. :twirl:

I care.

I want that imbecile to own this whole Brexishambles 100%, along with his so-called colleagues. I see them disappearing into the haze, just like Call-me-Dave. I want this to kill off the Tories as a real political force for a generation.

With Raab and Rees Mogg we’ll be back in the 18th century before the GE results are out.
Those two will completely demolish any human rights we have, Rabin wants to cancel holidays, and minimum wage for youngsters.

Welcome back slavery, where’s Wilberforce when we need him?

The nearest we have is currently Leader of Her Majesty's Opposition.
