It is possible to see both for what they are and also condemn both. Both being the evil of paedophilia and the evil of racism. Yes, there have been gross failings which are unacceptable and it feels hard to hope that lessons will be learnt. However, I do believe attitudes are slowly changing although not in the way that the rabid alt-right and racists want.
