Poll-Remain in the EU than face ‘no deal’ Brexit

Poll-Remain in the EU than face ‘no deal’ Brexit

Postby Guest » Sat Jul 21, 2018 10:53 am

The British public seem to be increasingly alarmed by the prospect of a ‘no deal’ Brexit – which is championed by right-wing Conservative Brexiteers.

A YouGov poll for the Times found that in a three-way transferable vote, 50% would put their first preference towards Remain, with 33% towards No Deal, and 17% towards leaving with a deal.

The poll also found that support for Theresa May’s Conservatives is plunging, amid infighting over the details of the final Brexit deal.

Margaret Thatcher backed single market

Margaret Thatcher backed single market in draft Bruges speech
Documents show that former leader looked forward to development of EU trade rules

Margaret Thatcher was not a proto-Brexiter but an enthusiastic supporter of the single market, according to draft versions of her celebrated 1988 Bruges speech.

Yes folks, even your favourite peado-enabler was NOT a Brextremist.

Brexit is quite possibly the most injurious policy ever. It's a farce.

I blame those who voted Conservative in 2010, they are responsible. No one else is.

How long can we stockpile tomatoes oranges bananas lettuce biscuits eggs for sixty million people?
Eggs can be stored powdered of course as they were in WW2.
Nothing like fresh eggs though.
But here we are in peacetime and relatively prosperous peacetime setting ourselves up for rationing and probably other wartime scenarios of deprivation for .... because .... possibly for fifty years.
Has something been put in the water?
What kind of madness is this?
Do some of you need some medical help?

Yes they vote for them, say how crap they are and vote for them again, knowing how useless they are. :shake head: I call them Stepford Tories because no matter how much the Conservatives fuck them over they will still vote for them and blame Labour for fucking them over. :leer:

Why are we stock piling food ffs?

Trade with Europe will not cease when we leave, even without any trade deal.

We can trade with any nation and foodstuffs have special customs protocols as they are classed as perishables. That is, cleared quick rather than delayed which would ruin the shipment. Just look at a label in any supermarket to see plenty of foodstuffs from different countries outside the EU.

Brexit has become a slanging match of untruths, fearmongering and plain ignorance from all sides. Corporations using it to get a better deal, some sort of grant or discount and many a company and individual using it as an excuse to do what they wanted to anyway for their own reasons. Usually increased profit via relocation for lower costs or shedding work force and so on.

I asked some specifics in the other thread and no-one could give any. Why won't food me traded between us and EU after leaving? :dunno:

It's the delays clearing the new border.

But you will also find that the countries exporting those foodstuffs to the EU also have EU Free Trade Deals which specify standards and avoid lengthy customs delays.

We won't have such a deal with ANY Country (EU included) and ALL imports will require full customs checks.

Huge delays are nigh on certain.

You clearly don't know that the country went to the polls and for some inexplicable reason 52% of people vote to Leave.
