The evidence suggests that the natural cycle is exacerbated by industrialisation (me and you), not down to us.

When I read it's the hottest in 250 years then I have to ask what caused it 250 years ago?
This is the hottest weather in Britain and the worst drought ..... since 1961 but lots of people want me to believe this weather is something new and alarming.
Ok the whole northern hemisphere is heat and drought ridden but is it the first time?

1976?

Scotland had a wet, miserable summer in 1976. All down to the position of the Jetstream.

I didn’t know that. I know it was a drought year and there was a biblical-like plague of green flies.

Sorry Rollup, yes you were. I think that we are at least part to blame, and the biggest danger is the use of resources by emerging nations causing huge carbon emissions. For instance, seeing China building a new coal-fired power station every week, and imagining that will be matched by India and others leaves me cold.

The other concern is a spiral effect. The hotter it gets, the more wildfires. The more wildfires, all the more pollution, and the hotter it gets. We may have already set this spiral in motion, and stopping it may be a task too far.

And you pair are completely and utterly ignorant I guess....

Thawing Arctic permafrost effects: Methane release ...
www.ibtimes.co.uk › Science › Environment

What has permafrost got to do with methane being released? ... there are about 1,500 billion tonnes of carbon locked up in permafrost.

https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/arctic-permaf ... ws-1601286

Why are you two not up to speed on global warming, having full knowledge of all factors affecting it? :smilin:
Go and read some scholarly articles

It's known the world over as the methane monster.
I mentioned methane and you then accused me of being ignorant of the methane problem.
Type methane monster in and see what you get.

While you're belittling some of us because you thought we didn't know about the methane problem you show up how minimal your knowledge is when you haven't heard it referred to by scientists and the media as the methane monster.
You couldn't make up a character like you Raven ......

Yeah right!!! You and Cuntydc laughed at my referring to the tonnes of it locked up in permafrost. So I am sorry I cannot accept that, anyone else can see that too by reading your posts
