UK'S RICHEST BREXITEER LEAVING TO AVOID TAX

UK'S RICHEST BREXITEER LEAVING TO AVOID TAX

Postby Cannydc » Thu Aug 09, 2018 1:28 pm

Britain’s richest person is quitting the UK for Monaco – just two months after he was knighted by the Queen for “services to business and investment”.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the founder and chief executive of petrochemicals company Ineos and a high-profile Brexiteer, is preparing to move to the tax-free principality on the Côte d’Azur in order to avoid UK taxes on his vast wealth. His fortune is estimated at £21bn.

Ahead of the Brexit referendum, Ratcliffe provided a boost for the Leave campaign when he said Britain would thrive outside the EU.

In the immediate wake of the vote he urged the government to adopt a tough approach to exit negotiations: “We must listen, we must be unwaveringly polite and retain our charm. But there is no room for weakness or crumpling at 3am when the going gets tough and most points are won or lost.”

He said Europe needed access to the UK’s market as much as Britain needed Europe.......

Another 'Do as I say, not as I do' merchant in the mould of Rees-Mogg and other tax dodging Brexiteers.

By the way, he has form.

Ratcliffe has quit Britain before. He moved Ineos to Switzerland in 2010 in protest at the Labour government’s tax regime. The relocation saved an estimated €450m (£405m) in tax. He then moved the company back to the UK in 2016 after the Conservatives returned to power and cut corporation tax rate from 28% to 20%.

Funny thing, he moved Ineos to Switzerland in 2010 in protest at the Labour government’s tax regime.

2010 ?

After 13 years of the Labour government’s tax regime ?

Not exactly prompt action........

(Sir :grrrrr: ) Philip Green was my favourite hate figure because of his (within the law) selfish nature and intransigence toward damage he caused others, but this guy surpasses even him on the cuntishness meter.
A Pro-Brexit mouthpiece deserting the country because of all the damage he massively helped to cause!

When the Brexit bill falls on the mat you will be hard pressed to find a single one of those rich, privileged Brexiteers willing to bite the bullet and pay for the damage they alone caused.

We all know who will pay.

Stand by, Sunderland massive.....your tax rates are about to rocket, while Rat-cliff won't pay a penny.

A truly humongous bill it will be too when finally tallied up in years to come, but I am sure those who voted Leave will pretend it was all worth it :ooer:

Complete and utter Madness!

Do not judge Brexiteers by their words, judge them by their actions.

• Jacob Rees-Mogg - setting up funds in Ireland to maintain access to the EU for his wealthy investment class mates.

• John Redwood - Advising investors to get their cash out of Britain before the Brexit crash, whilst simultaneously propagandising in favour of "no deal" Brexit in The S*n.

• Nigel Lawson - Applying for French residency so that he can maintain the personal benefits of Free Movement, while the British public lose theirs.

• Michael Ashcroft - Promoting Malta as a great destination for investors to move their cash when the Brexit meltdown hits.

• Nigel Farage - Bagging German passports for his kids so that they can continue to benefit from Free Movement while millions of British kids lose the travel/work/study opportunities that it provides.

• And now Jim Ratcliffe (Brexiteer and Britain's richest man) leaving the UK to set himself up in the tax haven of Monaco.

So powerful people who give the appearance of being implacably opposed to to an entity which promotes free movement use free movement of capital and their people when it suits them?

Why am I not surprised.

More than 100 parliamentary seats that backed Brexit in the 2016 referendum have flipped to support staying in the EU, according to a major new poll.

Constituencies in Wales and the North have seen the largest swing, according to YouGov research commissioned by Hope Not Hate and pro-EU group Best for Britain.

The constituencies of Brexiteers Boris Johnson, Michael Gove and Jacob Rees-Mogg are among the 112 areas where opinion has changed in favour of staying in the EU.
