Fletch wrote:Centrism is Dead (And It Never Really Existed)
It’s a common refrain these days to hear people lament a decline of the so-called “center” in American politics. We’re supposed to look on in horror as “moderate” Republicans and Democrats become an engaged species of liberty-fighting patriots steamrolled by frothing, insane hordes of populist barbarians on their left and right flanks. They’re the voice of reason, lovers of apple pie and staunch defenders of our constitution and all that’s good and right in the US of A. We’re encouraged to run back into the blood soaked arms of establishment politicians like John McCain and Hillary Clinton — the only ones standing between us and the Donald Trumps and Bernie Sanders of the world. The center cannot hold, so we’re told.
It’s a nice story, the only problem is it’s complete and total nonsensical garbage. This mythical “center” is nothing more than a failed status quo attempting to rebrand itself in the wake of being outed as the corrupt charlatans they are.

I've always said centre politics doesn't exist. People who prefix their right or left wing with centre are just scared of the response and playing safe by adhering to the media expectations. The Jeremy is far left and the far right is the norm kind of media narrative we've had for decades now. It's nonsense and always has been and anyone describing themselves as centre something or centrist are just wanting the status quo. You've been trained to want that by propaganda, the tales of horror and woe if something else or a different way is proposed is enough to scare people in to submitting.
Be brave and declare your position, don't dither in the middle or you'll get run down...by the wealthy and corporations!

As for left-wingers being nicer, who is the nastiest, most unpleasant FM on this site?
Left-wing Dean.

Utter bollocks, living in a 2 party state has driven you doolally.
When power does actually change hands it's because the moderate voters jump ship from Con to Lab (or vice versa).

Secondly--its not so much about lib/conserv as it is deep state vs freedom.
Many Bernie supporters now support Trump because they realize the deep state tries to pidgeon hole into the demrepube nonsense.
80% of dems and 60% of repubes are full deep state or deeps state's patsies.
In the UK the conservatives are just deep staters. It seems labour are more in line with what Trump or sanders stand for--namely NO TARIFFS(or equal tariffs) iow free trade;
no croney capitalism .

America is different Tom, you have no left over there. Just Neo-Liberals and Neo-Cons. Bernie was nearest to left wing but even he was a sell out to the corporations and MIC.
