Training Saudi pilots at RAF Valley will 'stretch police force beyond capacity'

The revelation that Saudi military pilots are still being trained at RAF Valley on Anglesey has been met with disapproval by the North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner, Arfon Jones.

Mr Jones has raised concerns regarding their ongoing training at the base after it came to light on Monday that they were still being trained in the area despite the Saudi-led war in Yemen and the recent assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

He now fears that the presence of the air force of a "brutal regime" will put an additional strain on North Wales Police and will leave the force "stretched beyond their capacity".

So the outcry over Khashoggi was just for public consumption then. Tories do love their despotic regimes

The bodies of over 8,000 Syrians killed in bombing raids by the US-led coalition have been found in mass graves in Syria’s Raqqa after the rubble was partially cleared away, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.

According to the diplomat, the statistics turned out to be in stark contrast with “the hysterical reaction expressed by the US and other Western countries with respect to protecting Syrians’ rights,” and “the information provided in recent reports by various Western NGOs on the situation in Raqqa.”

The Raqqa Governorate and its capital of the same name served as the main outpost for the Islamic State terror group in Syria. The city of Raqqa was recaptured from the terrorists last October by predominately-Kurdish units, which form part of the Syrian Democratic Forces backed by the US-led coalition.

Moscow and Damascus have drawn attention to the situation in Raqqa on numerous occasions. On November 29, Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that the US and its allies were trying “to hide the dire consequences of their military operation” to liberate the Syrian city. For its part, Damascus sent a letter to the UN, which laid the blame for the bloody carnage on the US-led coalition, whose air raids claimed thousands of lives, while the city itself was razed to the ground.

ISRAELI SPECIAL FORCES ASSASSINATE HAMAS COMMANDER SPARKING NEW ESCALATION IN GAZA

On November 11, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades [the military wing of the Hamas Movement] announced that a unit of Israeli special forces had assassinated one of its senior commanders inside the Gaza Strip.

According to the official statement of the al-Qassam Brigades, the special forces unit sneaked into the city of Khan Yunis in the southern part of Gaza and killed the commander. On its way back, fighters of al-Qassam noticed the Israeli unit and clashed with it. However, Israeli warplanes stepped in and began conducting airstrikes to cover the unit.

“Enemy warplanes intervened and carried out airstrikes to cover the withdrawal of the special unit, which resulted in the martyrdom of many of our people,” the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades said in the official statement.

Palestinian sources said that “Nur Barake,” a deputy commander of an elite unit of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, was the target of the Israeli special operation. Five other Palestinian civilians and fighters were reportedly killed as a result of the clashes and the Israeli airstrikes.

The Israeli military confirmed that it had carried out an operation inside the Gaza Strip and said that none of the personnel involved in the operation were captured. However, the Israeli media claimed that an Israeli service member was killed and another one was injured during the clashes.
