TURKISH-BACKED MILITANTS ARREST MORE CIVILIANS SUPPORTING RECONCILIATION PROCESS

On September 13, the National Front for Liberation (SLF) launched an operation against civilians who had expressed their support to the reconciliation process in the southwestern Aleppo countryside. Syrian opposition activists said that several civilians from the town of Urum al-Kubra were arrested.

According to the Damascus government and the Ministry of Defense of Russia, hundreds of civilians have been arrested by the SLF and other groups, including Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) for supporting the reconciliation process since the beginning of August.

Syrian pro-government activists believe that the militants may execute these detainees to demonstrate their influence and to terrorize the civilians in their areas in northwestern Syria.

The militants fear any cooperation between the SAA and the locals in their areas. Similar cooperation led to the collapse of major opposition strongholds around the Syrian capital of Damascus and in southern Syria in the last few months.

UN Chief Urges Talks to Avoid Idlib Bloodbath, NATO Threatens War to Defend Terrorists

United Nations chief Antonio Guterres this week decried a Russian-backed Syrian offensive to retake militant-held Idlib province. But the fact is, terrorist groups need to be eradicated, and the NATO powers are backing them.

The UN secretary general urged a redoubling of the Astana talks process initiated by Russia, Iran, and Turkey to end conflict in Syria. This is while Turkey has reportedly stepped up supplies of weapons to militants in Idlib, the northwest province under the control of extremist factions.
Furthermore, the US and other NATO powers, Britain and France, are threatening to launch large-scale military strikes on Syria in the event of the Assad government forces moving ahead with a planned offensive.

Guterres warned the military operation to wrest control of the area from illegally armed groups would cause a “bloodbath.” He urged a “non-military” solution to the conflict. He needs to get real.

This amounts to the UN using a call for diplomacy to tie the Syrian Army’s hands behind its back. Surely, the priority for Guterres is to condemn the use of violence by the US, Britain, and France against a sovereign nation, which has the legal right to assert control over its territory being held by foreign-backed terrorist groups.

Vasily Nebenzia, Russia’s ambassador to the UN, says that the Syrian Army and Russian allies are trying to ensure minimal civilian casualties. But, he added, there can be no peaceful settlement to the conflict until all extremist groups are eliminated.

The Syrian Air Defense Forces (SADF) are responding to the attack. Some sources report that air defense systems deployed at Russia’s Khmeimim Air Base were also employed.

According to Syrian sources, the airstrikes were reportedly carried out by the Israeli military.

Russian MoD Presents IL-20 Investigation Results - Israel "Crossed The Line Of Civilized Relations"

The Russian Ministry of Defense just presented the results of its investigation (vid, English subtitles) into the September 17 incident in Syria. A Russian electronic warfare plane was hit by a Syrian air-defense missile during an ongoing Israeli attack on Syria. Fifteen Russian soldiers died when the plane fell into the Mediterranean.

The investigation confirms the early analysis published on Moon of Alabama:

The Israeli attack came out of the same direction as the Russian IL-20. The large 4 propeller plane creates a much bigger radar reflection than the small F-16s fighter jets. The S-200 missiles have a semi-active radar homing seeker. These are passive detectors of a radar signal which is provided by an external source, in this case the Syrian and Russian radars on the ground. While the missile was aimed at the F-16 its seeker likely mistook the larger radar reflection of IL-20 for the intended target.
Russian experts later provided more details that supported the above analysis.

The investigation presented today found that the Israeli jets intentionally used the Russian IL-20 as a shield against the Syrian air defenses.

The shoot down of the Russian recon. plane results in Israel overstepping the mark and will come back to bite them. No more unprovoked attacks on Syria and it's coalition from warmonger Israel. SYRIA WILL GET S-300 AIR DEFENSE SYSTEM WITHIN 2 WEEKS: SHOIGU

Syria will get a S-300 air defense system from Russia within two weeks, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu officially announced on September 24. He pointed out that the S-300 system will boost air defense capabilities of the Syrian military.

Shoigu recalled that in 2013 Russia halted S-300 systems supplies to Syria upon request from Israel. However, now the situation is different.

The Russian decision is likely a result of the recent developments over the IL-20 shootdown off Syrian coast on September 17. According to data provided by the Russian military the IL-20 was shot down by Syrian air defense fire as a result of actions of the Israeli military and its warplanes: Israel violated the deconfliction agreement with Russia, provided missinformation to the Russian side as well as Israeli F-16 warplanes were using the IL-20 as a cover from Syrian anti-air missiles.

However, the Israeli military denounced the data provided by the Russians as fake and claimed that Syria, Iran and even Hezbollah are the side responsible for the incident. Furthermore, Israeli Defense Minister stated that Israel will continue act as it wants in the war-torn country.

RUSSIAN EW SYSTEMS TO SUPPRESS COMMUNICATIONS, RADARS AND SATELLITE NAVIGATION OF COMBAT AVIATION ATTACKING TARGETS IN SYRIA

Russia is going to take additional measures to “cool down ‘hotheads’ and prevent misjudged actions posing a risk to our service [Russian] members”.

A few minutes ago Russian defense Minister Sergey Shoigu announced that a S-300 air defense system will be supplied to Syria within two weeks.

Furthermore, the Russian military will employ the following measures:

Russian EW systems will supress communications, radars and satellite navigation of combat aviation involved in any attacks;
Syrian Air Defense HQs will be equipped with better automated process-control systems, “which are only supplied to the Russian Armed Forces.” This will lead to a better integration of Syrian and Russian military assets operating in Syria and Syrian Air Defense Forces will have better targeting information.

Both the UK and the US Now Overtly Honor Al Qaeda

The United Kingdom is resettling Al Qaeda’s Syrian medical unit, called the “White Helmets,” as “refugees” in UK. The White Helmets organization is funded by UK’s MI6 and America’s CIA, and is headed by Raed Saleh, who was prohibited from visiting the US because he’s a terrorist. These jihadists won’t just have UK honors (and they already have: a Hollywood Oscar-winning ‘documentary’ full of lies about how ‘heroic’ the White Helmets are), but, presumably, they’ll also obtain UK citizenship.

“The Syria White Helmets Exposed as US UK Agents” is a 4-minute video about them. It’s an entirely accurate representation regarding their personnel and funding-sources. It even shows Al Qaeda in Syria executing a civilian; and, then, White Helmets — this ‘humanitarian organization’ — collecting his corpse just seconds later, as part of their ‘heroic’ work, for the US-and-allied invaders of Syria.

The invading nations use Al Qaeda’s Syrian branch to train and lead ‘our’ boots-on-the-ground fighters to overthrow Syria’s secular, non-sectarian, Government, which is headed by the secular Shiite Bashar al-Assad. These US-Saudi-Israeli-allied proxy fundamentalist-Sunni-jihadist boots-on-the-ground do the actual dirty-work of killing people for their sponsoring aristocracies.

In this particular instance the executioners are al-Nusra itself, which is Syria’s Al Qaeda branch, and in that video they have eliminated yet another person that the US and UK aristocracies want to be eliminated. The great independent investigative journalist Vanessa Beeley has written numerous articles (such as this) providing detailed documentation of how US and UK billionaires have funded the propaganda selling throughout the world the campaign to overthrow Syria’s Government.

Though the invading countries call this a ‘civil war’ in Syria, it’s actually a war that wouldn’t even exist but for the work, since 2009, of CIA and MI6 and those others from Western ‘democracies’, which are making suckers of their own nations’ citizens — Americans, British, and citizens of the other invading countries — via their lying ‘news’-media, none of which will publish the truths that this 4-minute video is showing. Occupation, Bound for Conflict: US Builds New Military Base on Syrian-Iraq Border

According to a source of the Iraqi Kurdish forces known as Peshmerga, the US has built a new military base in the Al Qaim region, on the border between Syria and Iraq.



The US military was reportedly also preparing to set up a military base of strategic importance in the mountains of Sinjar in Iraq’s northern Mosul province. However, Iraqi general Najim Jabouri denied information on the construction of the base.

It is worth mentioning that the important strategic region, Al Qaim, is located along the border between Syria and Iraq and was liberated from ISIS in November 2017. This is an interesting point, because the Syrian Democratic Forces evolved out of the U.S backed Kurdish forces, but was rebranded as a successful international media campaign was able to demonstrate that the so-called FSA was, or had become, little more than a collection of defected Syrian officers leading international mercenaries and Salafists. This was no different in function than the Iraqi ISIS composed of suddenly ‘Naqashbandi former Iraqi Ba’athist officers and Sunni rebels’.

27th Straight Bloody Friday in Gaza. Israeli Forces Kill Children

Israel gets away with murdering Palestinians and other horrific human rights abuses because the international community fails to hold it accountable.

Peaceful Gazan Great March of Return protests began on March 30, continuing each Friday, yesterday for the 27th consecutive time, the horrific death and injury toll mounting.

According to Gaza’s health ministry, Israeli forces Friday 28, 2018 killed seven Gazans, including two children, injuring over 500 others, around 90 from live fire.

Ministry spokesman Dr. Ashraf al-Qedra said “the types of injuries, and the deliberate use of sniper fire against the protesters, reflect one of the bloodiest and most brutal military assaults against the processions in the Gaza Strip, since the massacre of May 14” when Israeli forces massacred 60 Palestinians, including six children, injuring over 2,700 others.

On Friday, 35 children, four women, four medical workers, and two journalists were wounded, including from live fire.

At least 10 Palestinians sustained serious wounds, some life-threatening.

Since March 30, Israeli forces killed nearly 200 Gazans, around 20,000 others wounded, nearly half from live fire, including by exploding dumdum bullets, able to inflict fist-sized wounds and destroy internal organs.

Iran Sanctions - U.S. Responds To Court Order By Canceling Treaty That Gave The Court Jurisdiction

Earlier today the International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued a provisional judgment (pdf, 29 pages) against some of the U.S. sanction against Iran. The ruling is a preliminary injunction over urgent humanitarian issues that will later be followed by a final judgment.

The U.S. responded by canceling the treaty the gave the court jurisdiction over the case.

The ICJ is the main judicial organ of the United Nations and settles legal disputes between member states. The rulings of the court, based in The Hague, are binding. But there is no global police force that can make the U.S. government follow the court's ruling.

Nevertheless the judgment sets a precedent that other courts will use when more specific cases against the U.S. sanctions against Iran come up. A company that loses business because of the sanctions may sue the U.S. over financial losses. An ICJ ruling on the illegality of the U.S. sanctions will then be used by a local court, even an American one, as reference.

The preliminary injunction is obviously a victory for Iran. The court has not yet judged on the wider issue of the U.S. sanctions. Having read the argument I am convinced that the final judgment will only confirm this win. The ruling is a big loss for the Trump administration. It shows the world that the U.S. is the one and only entity which is in breach of the 1955 treaty, the nuclear agreement with Iran (JCPOA) and the unanimous resolution of the UN Security Council endorsing the nuclear deal.

Pompeo's announcement of the canceling of the treaty is somewhat schizophrenic. It accepts the ruling and transgresses on it:

The U.S. would not have canceled the treaty without the court's judgment that is based on the treaty. With today's canceling, or the announcement thereof, the U.S. admits that the court intervention based on the treaty is legally correct. This contradicts its earlier argument.

The canceling of the treaty today transgresses on the courts judgment. Measure three of the court's ruling orders the parties to not make the issue more difficult to resolve. Canceling the treaty now makes the case more difficult and aggravates and extends the dispute in violation of the court order.

The U.S. is in fact mocking the court.

Pompeo is as bad as Trump (and all the rest of the neocons Trump hired) Who gave him authority to cancel a treaty? It was created through a vote in congress, it can't be overturned without another vote.

It is yet another demonstration of lawlessness from the US and yet more evidence of why no country should trust the US in any negotiation or even deals it makes with them.
