IDLIB MILITANTS RECEIVE LARGE BATCH OF POISONOUS CHEMICALS WITH HELP FROM WHITE HELMETS

On August 28th, a large supply of poisonous chemicals was delivered to the militants in Syria’s Idlib with the assistance of the White Helmets group in order to stage a chemical weapon provocation and blame the Syrian government, according to Russia’s Ministry of Defense.

Major-General Aleksey Tsygankov, head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the opposing sides in Syria, said in a statement that the Russian military has received information from several sources in the Idlib Province that “a large supply of poisonous agents has been brought to the city of Saraqib on two trucks from the village of Afs.”

The chemicals were delivered to an arms depot, used by the militant group Ahrar al-Sham, “accompanied by the eight members of the White Helmets organization,” Tsygankov said adding the cargo was met by two high-ranking Ahrar al-Sham commanders.

“Later, a part of the load was put in unmarked plastic barrels and transported to another militant base in the southern Idlib in order to stage the use of chemical weapons and subsequently blame the government forces of employing poisonous substances against civilians,” the Ministry of Defense statement read.

Earlier, on August 26th, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that “foreign specialists” had arrived in Syria and may stage a chemical attack using chlorine in “the next two days.” RT cited the ministry as claiming that it will be filmed for international media to frame the Damascus forces.

Defense Ministry Spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said the operation is planned to unfold in the village of Kafr Zita in Syria’s northwestern Hama Province in “the next two days.” Konashenkov said that “English-speaking specialists” are already in place to use “poisonous agents.” In addition to that a group of residents from the north has been transported to Kafr Zita and is currently being prepared “to take part in the staging of the attack” and be filmed suffering from supposed “‘chemical munitions’ and ‘barrel bombs’ launched by the Syrian government forces.”

RT further cited the Ministry of Defense spokesman who said that the groups of residents will be used to assist “fake rescuers from the White Helmets.” They would be filmed and the footage would be shown to “the Middle Eastern and English-language media.”

The Russian Defense ministry warned that the US, UK and France would use the attack as a pretext for airstrikes against Syria.

Reinforcing that concern, the statement on August 28th commented on the deployment of USS Ross with 28 Tomahawk cruise missiles on board to the Mediterranean as well as the arrival of other US warships to the Persian Gulf and Qatar all of which were part of the preparations for the attack.

SYRIAN ARMY PREVENTS ISIS MEMBERS IN AL-SAFA FROM FLEEING TOWARDS AL-TANF

On August 31, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) prevented a group of ISIS fighters from fleeing the area of al-Safa towards the area of al-Tanaf, which is controlled by the US-led coalition and its proxies, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA). The state-run news agency said that several terrorists were killed and injured by Syrian soldiers.

Furthermore, the SAA artillery and rocket launchers shelled the last positions of the terrorist group inside the area of al-Safa, which is located north of the governorate of al-Suwayda.

ISIS-held pocket in al-Safa was split a day earlier, when the SAA managed to capture key positions between the hill of Abu Ghanim and the and the area of Umm Marzakh.

Currently, the remaining fighters of the terrorist group are under a tight siege and suffering from the lack of food and water. These rough conditions may force the terrorists to release around 30 civilian’s hostages, who were abducted from eastern al-Suwayda earlier this month.

RUSSIA HANDS OVER PROOF OF PLANNED CHEMICAL ATTACK IN SYRIA’S IDLIB TO UN

On August 31, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that Russia had provided the U.N. and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) with a proof that Idlib militants are planning to stage a chemical weapons attack in northern Syria.

“I would still not talk about the risk of using chemical weapons, but about the risk of provocations using chemical weapons in order to blame the Syrian government afterward, because such a provocation is being prepared, there is no doubt. Both in the UN and in The Hague, where the headquarters of the OPCW is located, we submitted concrete facts that were obtained from different sources,” Lavrov said, according the Russian news outlet Sputnik.

Lavrov also revealed that Russia is currently working to establish a humanitarian corridor for civilians in the northern governorate of Idlib. At the same time, he stressed that the Damascus government has the right to clear the governorate from terrorist organizations, such as Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

It is 30 days since the Israeli military stopped the Freedom Flotilla Coalition’s ship Al Awda and took control of the medical supplies for Gaza… For one month the Freedom Flotilla Coalition has demanded the immediate release of the 114 boxes and thousands of people from around the world have called Israeli embassies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in their countries demanding the release.

The medical supplies are desperately needed in Gaza as Israeli snipers continue to kill and wound hundreds of Palestinians each week. On Friday 24 August 2018, using excessive lethal force against the peaceful protesters in eastern Gaza Strip for the 22nd Friday in a row, Israeli forces wounded 89 civilians, including 17 children, 2 women and 3 paramedics, after hitting them with live bullets and tear gas canisters. Five of those wounded sustained serious wounds and dozens of civilians suffered tear gas inhalation.

According to the Palestine Centre for Human Rights (PCHR), 130 Palestinians have been killed, including 23 children, 3 journalists, 2 para medics and 1 woman. Among those killed are three people with disabilities and a young girl.

6,729 people have been wounded by gunfire including 1,140 children, 203 women, 78 journalists and 103 paramedics. Among those wounded, 422 are in serious condition and 69 people have had lower or upper limbs amputated. Statistics of the injured only include those directly hit with bullets and tear gas canisters, but there are thousands of other people who have suffered tear gas inhalation and sustained bruises.

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition continues to demand the immediate release of the 114 boxes of medical supplies (sterile gauze and sutures) for the health services of Gaza that were carried on the Al Awda and Freedom boats of the 2018 Freedom Flotilla to Gaza, hijacked by Israeli forces on July 29 and August 3. As Swedish Foreign Affairs Minister Margot Wallström has stated, the cargo must be released, according to international law.
