Al Qaeda certainly was Western funded, it was set up by the US when the Russians were in Afghanistan and has to count as one of the worst self inflicted wounds since the State of Israel set up HAMAS.

However your analysis betrays some pretty fundamental misunderstanding not only on the nature of both ISIS and Al Qaeda but also on the very nature of insurgency groups waging Asymmetric warfare. I could go into detail but suffice it to say that neither Al Qaeda nor ISIS exist as organisation in the way most people would understand the term and command structures tend to be labyrinthine. Active cells with motivations ranging from the purely financial to the highly fanatical will be common to both groups as long as there is a common enemy to fight. This was the case back when Al Qaeda were an organising force behind the various groups that made up the Mujahideen. Fun fact the word Mujahideen is still used throughout the region to describe just about every Jihadist group you care to name as the words Jihadist and Mujahideen are pretty much interchangeable in most circumstances.

Once the common enemy is gone those groups will splinter and being to attack each other. and conversely if a new common enemy appears groups are prepared to put aside their differences, share intelligence and even run joint operations.

This is not at all uncommon among insurgent groups. I'm sure that Raven will be able to give you a few examples of when INLA, an extreme Republican group, and the Red Hand Defenders, an equally extreme Loyalist group were happy to set aside their difference to attack either the IRA or the British Army. And although both sides would vigorously deny it I have no doubt that the IRA and the British Army worked together to contain INLA and the Red Hand Defenders.

Who are the common enemy?

Who have you got?

In Afghanistan the Mujahideen included groups that were very pro-America and very anti-America but both were against the Soviets and when the Soviets left groups that had been very pro-Soviet were more than happy to join with groups who had been in a coalition against them to form an new anti-American coalition under the same banner.

ARMY TROOPS ENTERED TOWN OF MANBIJ: SYRIAN DEFENSE MINISTRY

Image

On the same day, the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) released a statement inviting the SAA to take control of northern Syria areas from which YPG units had allegedly withdrawn. The reason of the decision is a threat of Turkish military operation in the area, which would be aimed against Kurdish armed groups.

Earlier, Russian and Syrian troops deployed in the village of Arima west of Manbij.

Good news but Erdogan won't like it.

IN PHOTOS: TURKISH-BACKED MILITANTS CONTINUE TO CONENTRATE FORCES NEAR MANBIJ DESPITE REPORTED DEAL BETWEEN SYRIAN ARMY AND YPG

This development comes despite the deal between the Syrian Army and the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), which was reported earlier today. Under the deal, the YPG invited the Syrian Army to enter the area and said that it had withdrawn forces from there. Furthermore, the Kurdish group claimed that it will mainly focus on combating ISIS in the Euphrates Valley

If that is what you think then it is plain you can read but fail to understand that I am merely opposed to the endless stream of anti-western Felch propaganda.
But your being a fellow conspiracy theorist I can see why you feel it necessary to give support to the 5th columnist :smilin:

Syria's War started because Assad opted to kill his own people when they were encouraged by the Arab Spring to demand more freedoms...

Here is how and why the conflict started:

What caused the uprising?
While lack of freedoms and economic woes drove resentment of the Syrian government, the harsh crackdown on protesters inflamed public anger.

Arab Spring: In 2011, successful uprisings - that became known as the Arab Spring - toppled Tunisia's and Egypt's presidents. This gave hope to Syrian pro-democracy activists.

That March, peaceful protests erupted in Syria as well, after 15 boys were detained and tortured for writing graffiti in support of the Arab Spring. One of the boys, a 13-year-old, was killed after having been brutally tortured.

The Syrian government, led by President Bashar al-Assad, responded to the protests by killing hundreds of demonstrators and imprisoning many more.

I was in Moscow recently, chatting to people you might have thought would have known better. Educated folks, among them an experienced journalist. I had asked them a simple question: how did the Syrian war begin?

They uniformly launched into the answer that has been peddled so often in recent times, that it has now become fact in certain circles: "It was the terrorists who started it all."

The fact that ISIL in its current form didn't even exist in Syria at the time, or that al-Nusra wouldn't arrive until many months afterwards, appear to have been conveniently forgotten - not just in Moscow but in most media coverage around the world.

The surprise, even shock on their faces when I pulled out my laptop and showed them the trailer for our latest film for Al Jazeera, The Boy Who Started the Syrian War, was a wonder to behold. They simply had no idea.

They claimed they hadn't been aware of how, for decades, dissenters towards government authority had faced the daily dread of a visit from the secret police, of torture, disappearance and extrajudicial execution.

They had apparently never heard about how fathers were frightened to allow their daughters to be alone on the streets for fear of abduction, rape and murder at the hands of the Shabiha, Assad-family militias that operated with virtual impunity.

The View From Moscow seems rather ill informed Felch, just as you are you brainwashed fool.

Brainwashed clown!

Al Jazeera, also known as JSC, is a state-funded broadcaster in Doha, Qatar, owned by the Al Jazeera Media Network

You know who funded the regime change (attempt) in Syria?

You know who wanted a gas pipeline from their country to run through Syria?

You know who changed their tune once ostracised by Saudi in 2017/18?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017–18_Qatar_diplomatic_crisis

Like all the regime changes. Protests within a country are fuelled by outsiders and supporters of an opposition. They are used to start violence and a country's authority has to respond to killings by trying to stop the agitators.

Seen all over the Middle east and in Ukraine.

Bashir is nothing like his father or his brother. He was called back from UK to be leader when his brother was killed. His father dies and he became leader. He is well liked, respected and elected a number of times as leader in elections judged fair and inclusive by observers from around the world.

BREAKING: ISRAEL ONCE AGAIN STRIKES DAMASCUS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (VIDEOS)

Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike on a depot in the Damascus international airport at the late hours of January 11, a military source told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

“At 23:15, Israeli warplanes, coming from the direction of Galilee [in northern Israel], launched several missiles at the outskirt of the Damascus international airport. Our air defenses immediately responded to the hostile missiles and shot down most of them,” the source said.

The SANA said that the Syrian Arab Air Defense Forces (SyAADF) have intercepted at least eight Israeli missiles over the Syrian capital of Damascus. Several videos released by pro-government activists and locals confirmed this.
