It's not just Universal Credit that is killing people. It's the Tories.

Here's a little known fact for you - Mortality ALWAYS rises when the Conservatives are in office, and falls under Labour...

'a United Nations report has condemned the Tory Government as making “grave violations” in the way in which it is treating the sick and disabled. '

Says it all really.

Sad state of affairs when a consultant's opinions are dismissed by a pen pusher.

But it is being implemented. The experience of the poor guy in that photo was by design, not by accident. The system is designed to put people like him in that position. For every one like him who makes the papers, there are hundreds, possibly thousands of others who suffer away from the eyes of the public, lacking the physical or mental capacity to fight the system and receive their entitlement. They are not human beings, they are cost savings.

The system isn't working, check out any disability forum and see for yourself. For every correct decision there are hundreds being treated as liars, so no the current system isn't working.

Go on YouTube and watch the hidden cameras capturing these so called professional assessors.

Walk the disabled's path and then come back.

Look at the lengths he had to go to to get what he is legally entitled to. He's one of the lucky ones, in so much he had some fighting his corner, what about the others who don't? The so called 'safety net' is failing a great number of vulnerable people, a system put in place to specifically help the very same.

It's not necessarily a fact, just because you say it. I'd need some reliable evidence to back up the claim.

You read the report(s)/article(s) presumably. So why not copy and paste the link(s) while you are at it.

You made the claim, you back it up.

The onus is on you, not me (to go find).

And calling me a lazy Cunt is not helping matters.

In 2015,there were 30,000 “excess deaths” in England and Wales, the greatest rise in mortality for 50 years, according to a study published this year. The researchers – from Oxford University, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and two borough councils – examined possible explanations and, having rejected environmental collapse, natural disaster and war, concluded that “the evidence points to a major failure of the health system, possibly exacerbated by failings in social care”, adding for clarity: “The impact of cuts resulting from the imposition of austerity on the NHS has been profound.”

Last year, meanwhile, the suicide rate within prisons in England and Wales reached an all-time high: 119 deaths, or one every three days. The background is a 40% drop in the number of prison officers, which had an obvious practical impact, pinpointed by Prof Pamela Taylor of the Royal College of Psychiatrists: there simply weren’t enough staff to accompany mentally ill patients to clinics and appointments.

We know of the existence of 49 Department for Work and Pension reports – called peer reviews – that are triggered when someone dies following a cut to their benefits, 40 of which were suicides.

Dr Ben Maruthappu, a senior public health researcher from University College London is the lead author on a forthcoming peer-reviewed paper in the BMJ Open which attempts to quantify additional deaths attributable to the UK Conservative Party's austerity measures under the 2010-2015 coalition government and the Tory governments since; Maruthappu and his co-authors attribute 120,000 deaths to austerity, and call them "economic murder."

How many of these instances do you want?

Or don't feel the need to follow the news all the time, as most of it is pretty depressing, to say the least.

Wasnt sure whether this belonged here or the brexit thread but it suits this better as it accurately sums up how the whole brexit mess is because the Tory party is irrevocably broken over the issue of Europe.

When you hear these pricks talk about 'country before party' never forget that they would happily fuck everyone in this country over if it meant preserving their precious Tory party.
