Boris's dad, Stanley Johnson continued the family tradition yesterday when asked how his Idol, Margaret Thatcher, would have handled the Irish border question which is dogging Theresa May's Brexit 'strategy'.

"She would have said look, if the Irish want to shoot each other, they will shoot each other whether there's a hard border or whether there's a soft border... that's something the Irish will do".

It took George Galloway to point out that, "it's actually Britain that shot most Irish people".

If you hate Britain so much why do you live here you idiot?

In that case you’re applauding a failure, I am not pissed off but rather amused by both you and the simpleton you are backing in his and your obvious belief that Diane Abbot is allowed to be racist in your fucked up beliefs.

Crossrail and HS2 are vitally important for the economy of the UK.

You do realise that the construction costs will be recuperated over time with rail fares for example, unlike the costs of some of the the other things mentioned, which can only be paid back via taxation.

The other thing is you can't blame Conservative or Labour governments for railway investment, as we've been falling behind countries like France, Germany, Italy, Spain for quite a while and of course Japan. Have you noticed how much money China is investing in their railways like it going out of fashion. In the long term it will bring benefits. Current car culture for the UK is not sustainable in the long term, as many of our roads are already heavily congested, especially in urban/tourist areas and we need to get car drivers especially off the roads and the only way to do it is invest in public transport.

Thousands of people turned out in the rain to watch Jeremy Corbyn speak in Gateshead after Theresa May struggled to fill a room on the Conservative campaign trail. :pmsl:
