You may or may not have heard this week about the video of a homeless man who was spray painted red by a local yob whilst saying "This is how we deal with the beggars on the street.". Well, this is the man who's voice can be heard on the video, Aaron Jones.

Take a look, remember the face of a man who can only be described as callous, cowardly, cruel, heartless, nasty, senseless and despicable in the extreme.

The sad reality is this kind of hate crime is becoming all too common, it's almost as if certain parts of society have become so removed in their own ways of thinking from the rest of us that it genuinely strikes them as a permissible act to persecute another human being based on their status, appearance or origins. We couldn't disagree more with this kind of behaviour, Aaron could just as easily approached Michael Cash, and offered him some help or money or food or guidance... or something.. just anything to help another human being feel even for the shortest of moments like somebody cared about them, but no. He chose to spray paint him with an aerosol whilst demeaning him to the point of almost being subhuman, and to what end? What could he possibly get from doing this other than a loathsome sense of self-satisfaction of having power over someone more vulnerable than himself?

Tragically a week after Mr Cash was made to endure this pointless humiliation his body was found in Eston Cemetery in Middlesbrough. The police say at this stage his death is unrelated to this incident.

But just imagine spending the last week of your life like this and ask yourself, is this the kind of society I'm prepared to live in? If it's not we suggest (like us) you challenge this kind of atrocious behaviour as and when you see it. These people need reminding it's not normal to treat one another like this. Our thoughts go out to Mr Cash's family and friends at what must be a very difficult time right now.
