Cable quitting

Suppose not surprising given his age.

But want a non-MP to be leader, who do they have in mind?

Yep. Tough job leading literally 8 people lol.

I quite liked him though tbf apart from his anti-democratic remoaning but 8 seats is evidence that is just fringe nut jobs territory.

Ooops - more comedy gold.

There are 12 Libdem MPs.

And that's plenty enough to hold the balance of power in a hung parliament (See May's shameful £1bn bribe of 10 DUP MPs)

They need to go for another Nick Clegg/Blair type. Their core vote (what's left of it) seem to like that sort of thing.

They're a total embarrassment, let's be honest.

The embarrassment is that this was yet another piece of garbage fake news printed in a garbage right-wing rag and spread by a garbage right-wing poster.

Vince Cable has no intentions of retiring in the future...........says Vince Cable himself.

Never, ever trust a Tory, a Tory paper or a Tory poster.

You end up with "Norway is in huge debt", there are "only 8 Libdem MPs", "Sweden doesn't pursue Socialist policies" and "Vince Cable to quit"

ALL IN ONE DAY !!!!

*Edit* I managed somehow to forget "Labour Party to split"... :shake head:

Charles Kennedy was a decent sort. I actually voted for him when Labour were up to their necks In Iraqi blood, not to mention the blood of UK troops.
The idea of voting LibDem now is utterly unthinkable, almost as bad as voting Tory.

We're pretty earnest TBF :ooer:

The thing is that we are really good at local government and our core concentrate on that. We have a hustings in a couple of weeks to elect our new parliamentary candidate and I'm going to vote for a friend who is looking at the national picture rather than concentrating on the minutiae of the local council. Speaking to him today, there was a block of members who had already postal voted for the bloke who has been in the papers for years and wouldn't enter into any argument about national issues.

Is someone with your background an asset or a risk to someone trying to get elected? How can you reach out to leave voters asking for support when you label them all thick racists who hate brown people?

Not thought this through have you.

The Lib Dems tarnished themselves when they decided to become Tories and vote through all of their policies, despite holding all the power. By far the worst Governing party in recent years.

Ahh an active member? Respect.
As far as I'm concerned though, the LibDems cannot be trusted and stand for nothing.

Yeah totally. What do you mean about my background? I won't run for the local council for various reasons, ownership of this site being one of them. Crack on.

The attitude that cost you many seats during the last GE. I was working to get the Tories out rather than splitting the vote...

That's fine and I understand your stance. That isn't going to stop me from trying to shift your attitude or from shifting certain policies within the party.

I should certainly hope not.
You won't succeed though.
