Disability assessment reports are‘altered’ to refuse benefi

Postby Guest » Tue Oct 16, 2018 8:40 am

There is growing evidence to suggest that disability benefit assessment reports are being deliberately "altered" or "tampered" with in order to deny disabled people the benefits support they desperately need, it has been revealed.

Evidence suggests that assessment reports for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) sent to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) are routinely "audited" by DWP officials so that the altered reports bear little or no resemblance to the originals.

Work and Pensions Secretary, Esther McVey MP, is now facing calls to explain the reasons behind these "audits", after SNP MP Marion Fellows highlighted the case of one of her constituents who was refused PIP based on an audited assessment report by a DWP official.

Her constituent, a 52-year-old gentleman, is suffering with Multiple Sclerosis and also struggling with mental health problems.

When he appealed against the decision to refuse his claim for PIP, the gentleman concerned was sent copies of both the original and altered reports.

The differences between the two reports were stark and clear for anyone to see. The original assessment report said the man “needs prompting” before preparing a meal. But this important fact had been omitted from the "tampered" report, to say he was fully capable of preparing his own meals.

The original report had also said that Fellow's constituent required “regular specialist input” because of his medical problems and needs medication for his mental health, but the altered report said he "has no regular specialist input".

The man, who has not been named, said: “They didn’t ask me any more questions, they just decided to go back and change the document. I’d say this can’t be a one-off situation."

“It’s disgusting. It’s picking on the weak", he added.....

This sounds more like the work of permanent civil service bastards offering bonuses to cost cutting staff and McVey needs to be told about this disgusting practice.
Civil servants will go to any lengths to fuck people over.

Mc Vey knows exactly what's been going on. The evil bitch needs to be brought to task.

This has nothing to do with permanent civil servants but the private company staff of scum Atos etc, where these monkeys are altering the reports to get bonuses.

Labour will get rid of these private companies when it comes to power.

As you know full well, civil servants work to orders from their political masters.

Bonuses are another political ploy, introduced by the Tories to avoid paying pensionable pay increases. To qualify for bonuses, ALL CSs are set targets....and those targets 'trickle down' from the highest levels, i.e. ministers.

Rubbish! The permanent civil servants are permanent, something the ministers are not, and they tell ministers what to do and how to spend and cut costs.

There is a simple sentence to describe the roles of Civil Servants.

Civil Servants ADVISE, Ministers DECIDE.

It isn't rubbish, it's fact. In fact, it's a constitutional fact. And you can't get much more factual than that.

(ps I was a CS, 2006 - 2018)

Complete garbage from Cannydc once again

Anyone who has ever worked for the public service knows full well that civil servants work to the law and the regulations.
Anyone who has ever worked for the public service knows full well that work is routinely reviewed and audited.

WATCH: Tory Disability Minister tells person with severe learning disabilities “pick up the phone” or we’ll slash your benefits [VIDEO]

The Conservative Minister for Disabled People Sarah Newton MP hit peak ignorance yesterday by telling a disabled claimant who could not read DWP letters because of a severe learning impairment to simply “pick up the phone” or face having their benefits slashed. Newton has previously been accused of being completely out of touch with disabled people, and after yesterday’s astonishing performance, it’s easy to see why.

Newton was responding to a question from the Labour and Co-operative MP for Brighton and Hove, Lloyd Russell-Moyle.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) had stopped the claimant’s Disability Living Allowance (DLA) payments as they hadn’t responded to DWP letters advising them to claim the new disability benefit; Personal Independence Payment (PIP).

The Labour MP added that, due to their severe learning impairment, his constituent was unable to read.

He ended by asking how are the government going to competently move over disabled claimants to Universal Credit in 2019 when they “can’t even get communication [with disabled people] right.”

The Disability Minister responded in a rather smug tone;

“I was advise your constituent uses the telephone service”

Before adding:

“So pick up the phone and the support will be available.”

So, I Worked for them for 12 years.

Targets ARE set by the heirarchy, and at department level they are a direct result of ministerial decision making.

Cases like this will exist for sure, and the minister responsible will be well aware of them. And chooses to ignore.

You are a fool Mungo, if you knew anything at all about this, you would have quoted the Civil Service Code. That's what they work to.
