From what i hear the entire town of Paradise CA has been wiped out. 27,000 residents fleeing. Some cars abandoned with parents carrying kids--running from flames.
Hope the wind shift toward the coast continues.

It does look scary, do stay safe Tom!
I visited Fremont as a teen, family friends lived there so I imagine it’s happening in the mountains?

its a hilly area for sure. fremont is in the sf bay area about 170 miles south of the fire. I went to grad school just north of Fremont.

It’s a beautiful part of the country with one of the best central parks I’ve visited, the hills/mountains(?) look a lot closer than they are. Hope the fire dies down.

Not yet jack.
But it was incredibly windy that night/early morning when the blaze started. So it could have started accidentally--BUT---firestarters know the best conditions to start a fire
