US TO REJECT UN RESOLUTION CALLING ON ISRAEL TO RETURN GOLAN HEIGHTS TO SYRIA: HALEY

The US is rejecting a UN General Assembly resolution that urges Israel to return the Golan Heights to Syria, according to US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley stated on November 16.

But then the US and it's citizens are never keen on facts that oppose their own ideology are they...

and in this cae:

What is Neoliberalism?

CUTTING PUBLIC EXPENDITURE FOR SOCIAL SERVICES like education and health care. REDUCING THE SAFETY-NET FOR THE POOR, and even maintenance of roads, bridges, water supply -- again in the name of reducing government's role. Of course, they don't oppose government subsidies and tax benefits for business.

In the United States neo-liberalism is destroying welfare programs;
attacking the rights of labor (including all immigrant workers); and
cutbacking social programs. The Republican "Contract" on America is pure
neo-liberalism. Its supporters are working hard to deny protection to
children, youth, women, the planet itself -- and trying to trick us into
acceptance by saying this will "get government off my back." The
beneficiaries of neo-liberalism are a minority of the world's people. For
the vast majority it brings even more suffering than before: suffering
without the small, hard-won gains of the last 60 years, suffering without
end.

It was designed they way it is, nothing to do with budgets or saving money. And a country's finances are nothing like a household budget so forget the trite 'living within your means' nonsense.

Simmer down chief. This thread is about the UN's take on the UK. There are other threads to bash your favorite scapegoat. :more beer:

You really are a nitwit! Nobody enters parliament as a professional politician, they come from all walks of life in all parties and enter the house without any idea of what they are in for. Until such time as they are briefed and coached by those who’ve been there for a while. All previous good intentions then go out of the window.
Do you know anything?

Political Interviews – How to Spot Media Training

Media Training for Politicians

At Media Training Worldwide, we train politicians how to speak to the media and to live audiences of voters. As a politician, the single greatest asset you can bring to any campaign, even more than money, is the ability to communicate effectively through the media and to live audiences.

At Media Training Worldwide, we teach politicians four very specific media skills:

Teaching MPs to twist the truth

Although it is not a new phenomenon, such training, which was once rare, has become the standard. A bland, polished performance style has become the norm among politicians. “The rise of the political class” refers as much to the homogeneity of politicians’ public personae as anything else.

Felch does tend to get carried away, forgive him. That aside I do believe the UN are correct, this government went out of its way to systematically cut down the welfare bill by employing draconian companies to specifically destroy benefit claimants claims to reduce welfare spending. Many people could not afford to live (quite literally) and deaths occurred because of these sickening policies.
Had they instead pursued the tax evading upper echelons of society and corporations they would have secured far more money, they had a choice and they chose to give to the rich and steal from the poor. It seems they really resent poop people and the welfare state.
Having done this they lost me, they can bugger off.

It was never about saving money but hoovering up money from the bottom to the top.
The private companies and shareholders that are paid to oversee all this are costing more than may have been saved but as far as the Tories are concerned the money is now going to the people who most deserve it.
They are as always economically incompetent though as the welfare money is spent as good as instantly helping keep the economy going.
Wealthy people tend to hold onto their gains.
The Morrison family warned that the savage cuts to welfare could end up meaning they had to lay staff off as billions of pounds ceased to circulate in the economy.
The automation disguised that fact.
