The French.

Are they afraid enough of their government to need to bear arms?
No.
The French have some powerful symbols to remind those in office they are the servants of the people not the masters.

Yeah but...they need guns. They had their guns taken forcibly, or something like that. FREEDOM! :woteva:

They are giving their government some stick about petrol taxes though.

Paris is BURNING: Huge bonfires are lit on the Champs Elysee in Paris as police blast thousands of people with water cannon and tear gas as they protest proposed fuel hikes

Pretty clear message...

I wonder at what point Tom and Maddog would be opening fire.

They'd be hiding behind locked doors calling for the cops.

Workers stick together in France, a more collective, community outlook than the Anglo American 'how much can I make out of this' attitude. I'd hope we would start becoming more that way inclined with a Corbyn led government.

I have a feeling the French might just inspire the English over the next few days and the Italians and Spanish .... who knows.

If we're talking about decreasing the amount of money the government confiscates I might be lighting some fires myself.

Apparently it's mostly about rise in fuel costs..

The price of diesel, the most commonly used fuel in French cars, has risen by around 23% over the past 12 months to an average of €1.51 (£1.32; $1.71) per litre, its highest point since the early 2000s.

That's about average UK pump price now but here folk just meekly accept it.

The rise in fuel cost is because of a rise in fuel taxes. The government is responsible for that rise in taxes, under some pretense of helping people or some shit.

Meanwhile, we just dipped below $2 per gallon again.

Looking at the pictures I'm sort of bewildered by the high viz, yellow safety vests worn by the protestors. It's like they want to be safe protestors and not hit by traffic or something? Or is that their "colors" like US motorcycle gangs wear?

The EU--so far -has given the british people the big F U so far regarding brexit.
Essentially they have said--"Isn't that cute--they have voted to leave us;--Lets give them a nice certificate saying so
while in effect knowing we control them now more than ever.

"Maybe if the people who voted brexit take to the streets then we will cook up more phoney stuff to 'give' to them so they feel like the y won something.
Oh those english are so feisty."

Who wrote the rules Tom regarding leaving Europe?
The British.
The Europeans are obeying those legalities and guidelines.

The French have some powerful symbols to remind those in office they are the servants of the people not the masters.

British people don’t possess French revolutionary zeal and are more inclined to be subservient to the master class.
