The US does have an Opiod abuse problem.

Doesn't that make you happy Jack?

I would think fewer Americans would look like a positive development to you.

There's always a reason always a cause and to find out what people think that cause and those reasons are would be interesting.
No I wouldn't like to see fewer Americans just fewer empire building deaths and destruction and thieving.
Britain did it and now America are doing it but happily that should soon be coming to an end.
So at the end of the day America is becoming a more and more unstable unhappy place.
People are losing hope the dreams are shattered.
I doubt anyone is going to come to an honest conclusion meaning the problem will grow ever worse.

In the 90s ot was crack. Murder rates were off the chart. Then came the scourge of meth. Now it opioids.

Do you think people are just dropping in the streets?

Addiction has plagued mankind for centuries.

You sound like you want to build a wall.

No, the problem now is opioids. Crack was the 90's when we had the highest murder and incarceration rates in our history.

We are actually closing prisons now, because we don't have the inmates for them.

Alcohol isn't really a huge problem either, until you start mixing it with pills.

You're bias is so strong, that you can't even discuss this topic objectively.

Guns. How about much much stricter gun control. Apparently, there are more guns than people in the US. That should cut down on a fair few deaths.

Obesity. Too much to eat, too little exercise, so that balance has to re-addressed. Apparently car ownership/household is higher than most of the world and IMO there is somewhat of a link between the number of cars and the level of obesity, as driving can make you lazy, e.g. driving when you could walk or get a bus.

Drugs. Now, if I knew the answer to solving that, I would be heavily in demand.

The world is awash with crack people cook it up and make crack.

The last time I was in St Louis it was shut.

We went to a huge Mall to eat, and were shocked to find the doors closed.

Never seen the like, before or since.

Crack is back:
Nov. 14, 2017, 8:21 PM
Not only has the price of crack fallen by 13% since 2007, but it is now more readily available. Newly established supply routes in the UK have also emerged. Central city gangs distribute crack into coastal and rural areas, along so-called "county lines." The Home Office reports that the number of seizures of crack in Britain are currently at their highest since 2008, although the weight of seizures has fallen since 2015-16.
