Labour's lead over Conservatives surges to 7% in polls

EXCLUSIVE: Survation - which accurately predicted last year’s election result - puts Jeremy Corbyn on 44%, with Theresa May trailing on 37% and the Lib Dems notching up just 9%

Labour has surged to a 7% poll lead amid fears that ongoing brutal cuts by the Tories will spark a recession.

Survation, which accurately predicted last year’s election result, puts Jeremy Corbyn on 44%, with Theresa May’s Conservative Party trailing on 37% and the Lib Dems notching just 9%.

Half of those polled said they expect the UK to slide into a recession within the next two years and 62% said they want this week’s Spring Budget Statement to announce a real-terms increase in spending on public services.

Some 48% who voted Tory at the last general election think cuts have gone too far.

Tim Roache, general secretary of the GMB union who commissioned the survey, said: “We’ve all seen that it’s not working.

Change is coming and that change will be a majority Corbyn government who will end the genocide of the sick and poor in this country and make the rich shoulder the burden for many years to come! :canny:

It was BS anyway.

Latest from last weekend (as opposed to last month)

CON 36%(-2), LAB 34%(-3), LDEM 8%(-2), TIG 8%(+8), UKIP 6%(nc).

In other words, still neck and neck.

A predictable spike for TIG - people are easily led, and fooled.

And quite gratifying that the Labour vote has held up well, considering that most TIGS are Labour MPs. Tories only lead now due to the BLUEKIP migration, as their extreme right is wooed back by blatant Islamophobia.

Good. Tories need to know they are fucked if they do not deliver brexit. They'll get the message sooner or later. Deliver brexit and anti-Semitic labour are toast. Mess it up or allow remainers to subvert it and tories are toast.

The deal is likely to be voted through next week thereby delivering the Brexit you dreamed of. :pmsl:

Meaning they are generally accepted as more accurate.

Survation were the most accurate polling company in 2017 with polling error of less than 1%

When Theresa May called the election, polling figures from some firms showed huge Conservative lead (up to 25 points) over Labour that her party could have 200 seats, thumping majority. As we now know, even the seemingly best laid plans..

Survation have three ‘final’ polls for this election: online for the Mail on Sunday June 4th, showing the Conservatives with a one-point lead over Labour; a telephone poll for Good Morning Britain, June 4th (same result) and an official “final poll” June 6th, corroborating the trend seen in the others.

I wonder who could have believed polls that forecast a 200 seat Tory majority ? Oh, wait.......

And the reason for that apparently is that the other pollsters overcorrected for the 2015 polling errors which had predicted a labour government but actually resulted in an increased vote for the Conservatives - something to do with age group-based turnout %'s.

There's plenty of analyses to read on this but suffice it to say that all pollsters have adjusted their sampling methodologies since 2017 so any projections based on 2017 polling outcomes are now invalid.

They were the only polling company to predict the outcome of the last election correctly.

The others tend to be biased towards the Tories.
