Nurses deride 3% pay offer.

Nurses deride 3% pay offer.

I think 3% is rather good. They want 12%. WTF. I haven't had a rise in my ESA for years. They're just greedy. We know they'll give in and they'll get about 8% as Sky News says but if I were Boris I'd stand firm and wouldn't increase it.

The OP didn't see the news - there has been no pay offer

After the OP was posted the pay offer was made, it has not been derided and in fact represents a government U turn following protest at the 1% pay offer made earlier in the year

Of course it's been derided by nurses up and down the country. They still say it's not enough. Was on the news at tea-time. How many years did other public servants go without any pay rise or just 1%. Andy on Haven was moaning for years as he's a librarian for the British library in Harrogate.

Other public servants don't like the government's pay offer either.

On average a civil servant's pay has fallen by 23% in real terms since 2008

If civil service jobs are so easy by all means apply for one, they're 50,000 customs officers short because of Brexit and they'll probably take anyone right now

Sounds like there is no reason ro be unemployed over there.

Could I telecommute and get paid 6 figures. Do I have e to pay your oppressive taxes?

You get a healthcare system that is free at the point of use.

For now.

But don't worry this news on keeping UK nurses pay low is good for you. The USA pays top dollar for British trained nurses, which is why so many of them leave the NHS and go to you.

One of the states that pays least for nurse practioners still gives a salary of $97940, which works out to around £70,000 and of course living costs are cheaper is South Carolina, that compares to less than £40,000 for an average nurse practioner in the UK

They more than deserve it. You should stop moaning about your ESA, you probably get more than people who are working poor and having to claim UC to top up their shitty wages, and you've a far easier life of it than many of those people.
