They get care, and it costs them nothing, except possibly their health or life.

Thats one aspect of where your system and ours differs. Our armed forces get excellent healthcare and if serving overseas, depending on the accident/illness, would be repatriated via air to UK. If ex-forces they still receive the same level of healthcare as civilians - why shouldn't they?

Like you, I too don't like our "government run part" as this lot ignored their own Pandemic Preparedness strategy three years back in favour of saving a few quid. Result being when we were hit by the pandemic, stocks of PPE were hopelessly inadequate and much of it was out of date stock.

Given chance the Tories would privatise it for the wealthy and the less well off would suffer. They've been hacking away at it for years.

This chap isn't a politician and not affiliated to any party. He's boss of the NHS and this is what he had to say about Brexiters false claim of sending £350m to the EU every week, and promising "lets fund our NHS instead".

1) Your ex forces get the same level of care as our's.

2) Most Brits have no idea what our healthcare looks like.

1) I can only speak for this countries ex-forces and I know because of my son. I don't know what level your ex-forces get.
2) Most Americans have no idea what our healthcare looks like either! Trump had you lot (oops, I mean yall) fainting in shock as he described the scene of a "well known city centre London hospital - the floors - covered in blood - they have knives over there ya know - knives, knives, knives!"

Naturally he came out with that tripe just as yall had another shootout at the OK Corall. :shoot:

One of our leading neurosurgeons challenged him to visit the London hospital he worked. I think he wanted to search for a brain cell. Typically Trump never took up the challenge and wet his nappy instead.

Was that drug available in the UK when she went to Cuba?

Who decides what drugs people in the US can take?

So I did a little research on Cimivax, the drug in Cuba that this lady flew to get in 2017. It's been available in the US since 2016 for limited and experimental use. Not sure why she went to Cuba except its probably not used here on advanced cancer patients.

I see no record of it being available in the UK to this day.

There are teeth tourists too, there's a town in Mexico just across the border (I can't remember its name) where Americans flood in for dental work at a fraction of the cost

Why not - Spain has publicly funded heathcare.

To remind you how your country fell for a conman and show you that "most Americans have no idea what our healthcare looks like" so they make up fairy stories.

I found the clip. Bone Spurs was preaching to his backers, the NRA, filling their heads full of absolute shit and downright lies, but they lap it up. Notice he can't name the hospital but describes it as "a once very prestigious hospital, right in the middle".

Of course there are. Everything is cheap in Mexico. I think you can get a boob job for $50 and a goat.

Good luck.

"Spain has an excellent system of private medicine that exists easily alongside the state system and in recent years has become more important. An estimated 15% of the population holds private health insurance. This can either be used as a supplement or an alternative to public care and is available from both local and worldwide based insurers.

As with the state systems in other European countries there can be long waiting lists to see specialists and for non-emergency surgical care. The public system covers only basic medical care – dental and eye care is available privately."

From the Guardian.

Fidel used the private system which skips the long waiting lists reserved for the serfs.
