Much was made early in the vaccine roll out about how well the UK was doing in relation to Europe in terms of the per capita rate of fully vaccinated people. In piece of coordinated disinformation the Tory press told us that leaving the EU had freed us to act quickly - it wasn't true, we were still a part of the EU medicines agency at the time and our ability to go ahead with the vaccination program, and to use vaccines that were not approved by the EU medicines agency if we so wished, wasn't affected in any way.
That didn't stop the press saying 'look how good Boris Johnson is' we're so far ahead of all these other countries.
We have already been overtaken by Malta and Iceland and as UK vaccinations have slowed to crawl, mainly due to Brexit's effect on our transport and haulage industry that is struggling to keep food on supermarket shelves, all of the rest of Europe is set to leave us in their rear view mirror by the end of August.
Every decison taken by Boris Johnson on covid has been proven wrong, you would think he would get the odd one right just on the law of averages but somehow he manages to stuff things up with almost monotonously regular episodes of total stupidity.
