Boris Johnson created UK to EU travel restriction

Travelling from Ireland to Norway is pretty easy.

You have a certificate that says you're double vaccinated and covid free and you can walk through.

If you're from the UK however you have a problem. EU countries, and Norway which has signed up although not a member of the EU have a system called DCC

This is a fantastic service and it's free of charge to the user. But you have a problem if you're from the UK.

Although he was offered the chance to sign up for the system Boris Johnson declined creating yet another travel barrier for UK citizens entering the EU.

This does not apply the other way around. You've seen in recent days that people with a valid Covid Certification from the EU can travel to the UK. And this isn't the EU being difficult - they actually asked the UK to participate in the scheme - but Brexiters refused to allow the British government to sign up.

This means if you're fully vaccinated, with a negative test and have an NHS covid certificate, which unlike the EU version you have to pay for, you will not be allowed entry to some EU countries and Norway without a period of quarantine that may cost hundreds of pounds.

This was not the EU's doing, it was Boris Johnson's.
