UK ‘running short on vaccine as appointments are cancelled

Postby Cactus Jack » Wed Aug 04, 2021 5:23 pm

A doctor has warned Britain is “running short” on the Pfizer vaccine and said appointments are being cancelled due to low supplies.

Dr Clare Gerada, who sits on the NHS Assembly, claimed that some patients were having their second jab slots pushed back because there is “very few Pfizer” in stock.

Downing Street was said to have denied that the there was any shortage of Pfizer.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation previously advised that all under-40s and pregnant women should get an alternative jab to AstraZeneca after concerns over rare blood clots.

Should we risk the Oxford vaccine in children. We have a plentiful supply and the risks of blood clots have been established as lower than the risks associated with long covid?

I'm sure there were cries of vaccines running short when we started getting further into the vaccine programme. Probably all waffle as per.

It's the Pfizer vaccine in particular.

The good news is we have copious quantities of the Oxford vaccine and it's risks are less than the risks of long covid so the question is should we risk giving the Oxford vaccine to children?
