I know this thread is not very popular but I will soldier on. :Ssad:

A few of us look at it now and again. It's noteworthy.

The weird thing with this is how can the information from a light bulb go in two directions?
That's the bit they are keeping secret.
Simple as a mirror?
Doubtful or it wouldn't be remaining a mystery.
There's a chance this is a hoax and there's actually a laser inserted into the light bulb .....
If it's a hoax it's a clever yet simple one but ....will it entice loads of dollars of investment which would be the plan or ....is it genuine?

God knows rollup. :dunno:

I think we need someone who knows about the latest internet transmission techniques to point out the flaws in the system - if there are any of course.

Advanced electronics is not my strong point to say the least.

Over the last year or so I've been trying to get my head around quantum mechanics .... science.... theory...I'm struggling.
I'm fascinated by what I read hear and see online regarding these subjects but still none the wiser.
It's a sort of mental gymnastics I think.
A world of wonder and illusion that tries to explain a reality that is not at all familiar or easily fathomable.

It's not easy to say the least.

Wiki does try and summarise stuff such as M-theory and does it rather well but I fear true understanding is beyond all of us laymen.

Perhaps I should stick to watch Eastenders!

A couple of very festive science stories to start with - some of nature's living vampires and the trillions of bacteria on and inside you that are just biding their time until you shuffle off this mortal coil and they can start feasting.

A nice Patagonian plesiosaur that despite what the story says is nowhere near as big as these animals could get (some pliosaurs - short necked massive skulled plesiosaurs) may have reached 18-20 metres based on very fragmentary remains and some gigantic isolated teeth).

What are the largest White sharks scientifically recorded?

The second article is in French but a click on translate sorts that out.

http://sharkalley.blogspot.co.uk/2013/0 ... blanc.html

Age/growth curve.

https://briantissot.files.wordpress.com ... -curve.gif

After recent decades of protection (following mass slaughter thanks to mouth-breathing rednecks watching Jaws and believing it to be real) only now are we seeing massive whites reaching 6 metres + once again - it takes a very long time for them to reach their maximum potential size - but I expect to see a 7+ metre shark filmed in the wild one day (the mighty 'Deep Blue' has been estimated by the scientist studying her as well over 6 metres for example).

Henry Mollet's excellent site on sharks contains this table of the smallest to the largest Great white's in the scientific literature.

The remarkable discovery of a 99 million year old beetle exquisitely preserved in Burmese amber for all eternity.
