Oh no xmas is cool. Although it feels like this ones going to be relatively hot!

i wonder if there's gold on the moon, or some other element that could be mined.

The solar system is absolutely full of valuable elements Lady M - the asteroid belt for example.

There won't be gold ...... gold is produced inside volcanoes, as far as I'm aware the moon has never had volcanoes.

But dream on this, there is star in our galaxy, maybe more than one, which is entirely made of diamonds.

More awesomeness: there is a star which is so massive, if you flew around it's equator just once in a jetliner at it's cruising speed - to meet today where you began your journey - you would have had to have started out when the Vikings began to invade Britain.

The actual scale of the universe is frightening.

Even our pitiful 'little' local region of space is totally mind boggling (despite those misleading posters that are so common) many people simply do not understand the vast distances involved.

Yes I do and it is a very serious threat to biodiversity - in the last 30 years for example Polar bears have becoming 20% smaller due to having less time to hunt on the ice.
