Just musing on the bio-mechanical limits of the maximum possible mass of land animals.

Several footprints (Broome, Plagne) and the long lost remains of Amphicoelias (new paper out very soon apparently) suggest a maximum size of 60 metres or so and a weight of 150 - 200 tons for sauropods.

The massive 'French Giant' Titanosaur's largest specimen's remains (when published) may well back this up.

No matter - even relatively 'small' 37 metre long animals like Patagotitan were simply marvels of biological engineering and at least 10 times larger than any land mammal that ever lived.

If some form of memory is stored in RNA then perhaps that could explain the vague recollections of children claiming to have been reincarnated?

Just a thought. :dunno:

An excellent article on the extreme measures that the very best of humanity takes to protect Rhinos from the dregs of Homo sapiens - the poacher scum and the morons who believe in 'traditional' Chinese medicine. :shake head:

She must really have been a wonder to behold in life though Aaron - 12.3 metres and almost 10 tons of living sentient murder.

I am not really one for dinosaurs Keyser but I do have a fantastic obsession with one of their relatives, the saltwater crocodile. Love them, they absolutely fascinate me. :wubwub:
