Other Sports Thread Part Three.

Former Scotland Captain Greig Laidlaw will make his first test start in nearly a year after being recalled to the Scotland team to face France on Sunday.

Big Greg has made six changes to the squad that were gubbed by Wales.

Talking of Wales..

They play the Sassenachs tomorrow and hopefully the Auld Enemy will get fucking humiliated, the way we did.

I don't see Scotland having any problems beating the French.

We'll get our first victory against them and then..

It's Engerland.

Bring it on!!

Of course England are the Auld Enemy and France are the Auld Alliance for Scotland.

Things have changed a lot since those days.

I have no time for France either now, what they did was unforgivable.

Not only did Scotland beat France yesterday, we also became the first winners of The Auld Alliance Cup.

The Cup is to remember the war dead of France and Scotland.

I didn’t think it necessary to mention scraping a victory against a very poor French side. Especially after England beat the team that handed you an embarrassing defeat the week before...

Junior was beaten fair and square last night. But he did well to last all 12 rounds with a face wound.
The next big event [that will interest me] is the French Open Tennis. It's never boring, it's open to everyone to win.
And The FA cup final in May.

:Hiya:

Groves put in an excellent performance - he proved me wrong (I expected him to lose on a close decision) and produced the fight of his career.

You have to admire George's fortitude after coming back from that utterly brutal KO at the hands of Froch and the very close split decision loss to Badou Jack (close enough to argue he actually won it).

Well done to both of them!

Elise Christie must be the one of the biggest British underachievers in Olympic history.

Sometimes your sympathy just runs out.

I just watched the BBC highlight show. It's like she's jinxed in the Olympics.
