I feared as much.

It's a hard one to take, missing out on goal difference.

The only positive is Scotland were undefeated in their last five games and if we can build on that, we should hopefully qualify for Europe 2020.

Anyway..

It's back to the SPL Dooms and my lads will be visiting McDiarmid Park on Friday to take on your lads.

It should be a good game, but it takes place on Friday the 13th and I don't like Rangers playing on that date.

Ian Ferguson. :wubbers:

One of my favourite Rangers players of all time.

He was brought up across the road from Porkheid, but the guys blood runs blue.

He can't mention the C word, without a look of disgust on his face.

You guys seem to get a lot of the Friday games. Maybe just my perception though. I really don't like Friday games. It just feels wrong!
I think it will be a tight game in Perth.

This will be Rangers third game on a Friday since the season started.

I don't like Friday games, the weekend is not the same with the Gers playing.

It will be a tight game, score draw maybe.

Fuck no.
We want someone younger and more forward looking who wants the job and can do something positive with it, not someone who sees it as a step back into club football, especially when the height of their ambition is likely to be a mid-table former big club in England's Second Division. Moyes isn't as bad as some people think, not even a triumvirate of Conte, Mourinho and Zidane would have saved Sunderland, but he's not the man for us.

Wasn't long ago there were loads of Scottish managers in the Premier League/ Championship almost all Glaswegians, pretty much all gone now except Alex Neil at Preston.

And of course Ferguson, Dalglish, George Graham all past it now.

Paul Lambert and Alex McLeish are two possible replacements.

Someone has suggested Sam Allardyce.

We've already had a non-Scot as manager, so it's a possibility.

Steve Bruce has got a Scottish surname, although do Scotland pay more than Aston Villa?

Looked it up and Alex Neil is only Scottish manager in top 2 English divisions now, there used to be loads:

Steve Clarke - West Brom/ Reading
Malky Mackay - Watford/ Cardiff
Steve Kean - Blackburn
Steve Evans - Rotherham
Billy Davies - Derby/ Forest
Derek McInnes - Bristol City
Owen Coyle - Bolton/ Wigan/ Blackburn
Paul Lambert - Aston Villa/ Blackburn/ Wolves

Plenty of available Scottish managers it seems.

Big Malky MacKay has been appointed Interim manager of Scotland, he'll be in charge for our friendly against the Netherlands.

I don't mind him, even if he did help knock Rangers out the cup years ago.

That would go in his favour, especially if Peter Lawwell made the decision.
