Yes.

If someone wants to mutilate their genitals let them do it when they are old enough to decide for themselves.

Not because Bronze/Dark Age goat herders/warlords thought it would please their desert God.

Freedom of religion is used as a cover for a multitude of archaic practices which have no place in the 21st century (Halal and Kosher slaughter for example).

But it will never happen.

No. For all of these reasons.
A new policy statement from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is likely to throw fuel on the fiery controversy surrounding male infant circumcision.

The AAP's statement touts the medical benefits of circumcision while stopping short of recommending the procedure, which opponents decry as painful and unnecessary. For instance, new research has found that circumcision lowers the risk of acquiring sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, genital herpes, human papillomavirus and syphilis.

Of course it should be banned.

Cutting off a part of any babies genitals for reasons other than a medical emergency is abhorrent.

Fuck the American opinion, they only mutilate babies' genitals because the owner of Kelloggs thought it would stop people wanking back in the 1930's. I'm happy to have an extra 45% of nerve endings on the end of my old chap.

'Oh but the hygiene!' The foreskin slides easily back for cleaning, if your penis is rotting away then your problems are more than a lack of personal ordinance.

STOP CUTTING BITS OFF OF CHILDREN'S BODIES THAT ARE DONG NO HARM AT ALL!

Is it natural to have parts of your genitals cut off? Last time I looked, childbirth was. You can choose to have kids, these kids don't get to choose which parts of their bodies they can keep.
