I remember coming up to 40 and everyone going on about the big four 0.
Kept seeing and hearing around me what a major life event it was.
Forty came and it was pretty meaningless.
No big shock just another year gone by.
Fifty came around and what a shock that was!
I'm like how the hell did that happen?
What's going on?
The junk mail immediately changed.
Insurance companies had now put me in he 50 to 80 age group!
Fucking 80!
Took me a couple of years to come to terms with being 50 to 80.
As I approached 60 it all became meaningless.
60 was as meaningless as 40 other than the realisation that the future was now definitely shorter than the past.
This is where reminiscing starts .... huge past shorter and shorter future.
No longer any plans to make just a lot of memories and a lot of what ifs.
But in my head I don't think I ever got past 30.

Wow...can totally empathise with that! I'm 61 in two weeks. :Hiya:

Do you find that time actually becomes weirder and weirder?
It kind of unravels.
I visit Manchester and Liverpool and think oh there's wotsit and have to stop myself and think no no no but it could be their son ... or even grandson!
Little kids I haven't seen for twenty years have loads of kids!
Time is unravelling!

Hahaha yes I know what you mean, for me its a scary thought that I'm thinking a family holiday we had doesn't seem that long ago, then I realise it was 1993! And taking it on from there I can't help thinking if that's gone in so quickly I don't want the next 20 to go the same way!

On a positive note I'm very fit and healthy, and I know I feel young even if I'm not, what worries me is if I start to feel my age.... :yikes:

When I bump into people I haven't seen for years my first thought usually is how old they look. Then it dawns on me that they are probably thinking the same about me.
Apart from that I feel young in my head until I see my daughter getting ready late in the evening to go clubbing and I think..........Oh god no....couldn't be arsed with that anymore. :paranoid:

I have no idea, I still shout for my mum if I am ill or hurt myself. I feel old now that my kids are teenagers but only because I am so naggy at them. I think in my head I feel the same as I did when I was about 24 ish. Physically I feel fossilised.

Why 3/4?
I’m just stuck there, don’t know why, well I do but I’m not saying. :gigglesnshit:

Bit overly optimistic there.

50 was a milestone for me, especially as my best friend at Poly has died before reaching that age. I think I've had quite an interesting life for good or for bad, but two main regrets are not meeting my perfect woman and not travelling as much as I'd like. For me age is just a number, you are what you are.

My mind says mid thirties but even though I am relatively fit I do find my body can’t keep up as much as it used too. Mind younthe stressful few weeks I have had I feel nearer to 90 at the moment.

Speaking in general. You get slower physically, but you also get wiser. That's the theory anyway.
