Fears & Phobias

A right load of bollocks...

Frogs, I can't even look at a picture of one, I feel sick and shakey.

It's because when I was 10 or so a little shit put one down the front of my blouse and then squished it.

I remember standing in the school playground screaming and even the thought of one makes me vomit.

Nope, nope, and nope.

I'd love to have a go on them! :canny:

Is the problem that they stick to stuff, like velcro?

They stick to hair. :gigglesnshit: That’s probably why parents hate them.

I'm with Az about the worms. It's a bloody nightmare when digging the garden or trimming the edge of the grass when it's damp. They come out in force! :yikes:

As for snakes, it makes me shudder just thinking about them. :doomed:

Kids seemed to think it was fun torturing or killing frogs in the past - no idea why the sadistic little bastards.

I hear some used a straw to blow them up.

I hate animal cruelty and that experience is why you have this phobia.

Absolutely, I prefer animals to most people.

Off to have a look at your nature thread to see of you have anything about coconut crabs, they fascinate me.

The feel of a wet wooden spoon and drying it, total weird cringe.

T2 update. Last check (a week ago), retinopathy gone, sugar level down, good cholesterol up - nursed asked how I did it By eating more good fat I replied.

Good man!
Beware though that increased fat without decreased carb will give you a beer belly!

Good point - I am struggling a bit with distention and weight - I'll take that on board.

Spend an hour making mash spuds and cooking pasta and rice if you like them like I love them!
Split into portions and bung in the freezer for as and when.
Instead of high carb it becomes low carb high resistant starch and the spuds fried up in butter are delicious.
If you spend an hour in the kitchen batch cooking it makes it so much easier .... says he who a lot of the time can't be arsed. I think I'll do some later now I've remembered.
It is worth the effort.

Would it have the same effect just defrosting and heating it up in the microwave? Diabetes runs strongly in my family so I do my best to keep it at bay.

Anyway...phobias

Heights, a proper phobia not just a 'I don't like them' thing. I will drive ten miles to avoid a more direct route that has a drop at the side of the road. My legs go, my head goes, it's nasty. I hate the drive from Conwy to Anglesey, it's too exposed and high for my taste. I can just about cope as a passenger if sitting in the back and not looking I blame it on having no choice but crossing the Bala mountains :bawlin:

On the plus side, I am fine with garden creepies and spiders and snakes. Not too keen on slugs though.

Is it the prospect of the waiting thing?

It could be a decent half a minute to think before you're part of the scenery :dunno:

Tidal waves/tsunamis. Since I was young I have dreams about tidal waves, I used to live very near the sea and it terrified me, we were in a top floor flat but I could never sleep it the sea was wild.
