Ever been banned and thought it unjust? - me too. :gigglesnshit:

We have a banned thread where admin kindly post the offenders forum name and sometimes the reason for the ban. For good reason I suspect, it's locked but of course that means there is no easy way to state your case as to why you felt it unjust.

So here is your 'soap-box' if you like, a way to explain your reasons for doing whatever it was that earned you a ban and why you feel it was an unjust punishment.

Now I think that is a fair and reasonable thing to do but it must have some rules which you have to agree to abide by before posting here. These will probably need to be self policed because I'm in no position to place restrictions, so follow them please as it's in your interest.

1. You get one shot to state your case, one post and that's it. If you feel you have been treated unjustly then thats all you should need for others to decide if they agree with your claim or not.

2. Expect a right of reply which is only fair, that reply can only come from an admin, it's not a thread for arguing the toss or picking the nuances from gripes in post after post, nor is it an opportunity for others to stick their twopennyworth in - it's strictly between the plaintive member and mod, otherwise it becomes just another troll fest.

Of course I would prefer this to be a members only thread because it's only members who get banned and guests will no doubt want to by- pass the self imposed rules, like they do - but I have no control over that.

So can you do that? Can you state your case and accept a reply and that be the end of it? leave your peers to make their own mind up about the rights and wrongs? - If you can, then this is the thread for you.

Try to play nicely and stick by the rules, there's a good chap/chapess.

About three I know of, probably some I don't.

Which reminds me, my last ban which was quite recent I never got a chance to explain or get a reason for it, so I'll put my system to the test.

I happened to be commenting on the attractive appearance of a moderator when all of a sudden I was banned for 6 hours

Never understood that. :dunno:

There's no need for a separate thread, most posters get some kind of warning before they get banned. Also, most regulars here will know where the line is that shouldn't be crossed.
Most forums don't get into any debate about bans.

We like it here because this isn’t like most forums.

From what I've seen, very few bans here are perma.

Someone cops a 6hr or 24hrs bopping - so what? Hardly life changing, is it? Besides, most bans get reversed anyway :gigglesnshit:

I have never been banned, but have often observed bans which are obviously arbitrary and unfair. I say nothing though, as it has been my personal policy since posting on Dogs not to overly engage with Mods  I'm not one to be policed in real life and am not shy when it comes to challenging unfairness, so would definitely end up banned. Also, I realise it must be very difficult, if not impossible to be a Mod and a member simultaneously.

Dogs is Dogs, if you want to post here, you have to put up with it as it is.

If you don't want the thread dump it then Holly, I'm easy - I just thought it would be nice for people to know the reason for their ban rather than suspecting it's just a bad hair day. :dunno:

No need to dump it, let posters have their say, get it off their chest, then we dump it
