but...if i did get 1.2 million in cash....i would pay off a biz line of credit for 80k...pay off the mortgage on 2 rentals(350K total)....put 500k in my paltry vanguard acct(60% stock,40% cash bonds)
and the remaining 70K id keep in cash at home just to riffle thru;):):)

I think I’d continue to work, but maybe do something less physical than my current occupation. I find I feel tired a lot of the time and don’t enjoy my days off that much. It would be better for me to use the money to provide a modest source of income over the years than splurge on a luxury home and then struggle to keep it afloat. It happens to many people who come into a large sum of money suddenly. Lottery winners who declare bankruptcy a short time later. I wouldn’t want to do that, it would all be for nothing.
