I am trying to love it. I used to really love it but I dread it now because my dad’s not here and he totally loved Christmas. Everyone came to me for their dinner so it’s just horrible when everyone comes but him. But I know he’d no like me to change anything because he’s not here.

I love my tree and my cosy house. I make mince pies and mulled wine to put the tree up, my kids both like to cosy in with us and this year I think their girlfriends will be around and about - but not on Christmas Day.

We’ll be getting our turkey this weekend and bits and pieces as it gets closer. We are simplifying gifts so less to shop for. I am bad for picking up new ornaments though, I’ve ordered a reindeer elephant this year.
