Anyone ever been on a cruise? What did you think?

A right load of bollocks...

Anyone ever been on a cruise? What did you think?

Postby Kranek » Mon Nov 26, 2018 4:58 pm

I've just come back from a 3 day cruise and can honestly say it's the worst holiday I've ever had in my life. Didn't think I would ever like them but the boyfriend insisted I go on one just to try it out.

To keep it short, the things I hated about it:

You're constantly surrounded by people, no matter what time of the day you take a walk around.
The locations you go to are then swamped with fellow passengers so everything is heaving.
You have to queue for food like you're waiting in line for school dinners.
You get no opportunity to actually explore locations properly as you're given a curfew to get back to the ship.

Who actually enjoys these bloody things? I couldn't see one redeeming feature. Being old isn't really a valid reason...never again would I subject myself to a cruise no matter what age I get to. Shite!

Sounds like my idea of hell. I always thought cruises were for old people. Not my cup of tea at all...

Yuk, sat on a floating prison that's crammed full of institutionalised gammons who only want to spend a couple of hours a day in contact with the foreigners. I'd rather go to Malta...

No I don't fancy cruises.
I fear drowning anyway so I feel like I'd be putting myself at risk

I've been on a cruise but only because my missus had always wanted to go on a ship. I found it a bit dull for much of the time (like Butlins when you're a kid after the initial excitement). Plus cruising is no way to see foreign climes.

I envisaged it wasn't for me despite glowing reports of them. A tiny cabin. NO. I need space. And when you get to destinations you'd be carted off in buses for different excursions when I like to do my own thing.

I think I would make an exception for the Norwegian Ffjords. But nowhere else. Caribbean doesn't appeal to me with its high crime rates and you can just visit Europe for a week at a time and explore.

I've been on a few "Grey Funnel Line" cruises. They were fun :leer:

Only one, I quite liked it but it would not be my holiday of preference as too many people. I liked the food and dressing up for dinner

Not me personally, but my parents have done a couple, and other than the Panama Canal and the Alaskan coastline, there wasn’t much compelling about them. A lot of money for a little bit of scenery.

I believe there’s a Disney cruise suitable for you.
