UK vacuum giant James Dyson is moving headquarters to Singapore, citing Chinese market and Asian production
The billionaire Brexit backer’s CEO Jim Rowan says the move is unrelated to Britain’s impending departure from the EU
Rowan says he and Dyson’s other top executives will relocate to Singapore as soon as the paperwork to re-register is complete

Moving his head office, involving the relocation of two executives, does not constitute "relocating his entire business".

Mmmhh? All manuafacturing is done in Asia and now Head Office is going there too, pray tell what of the Dyson Brand will remain in the UK?

R&D is done here isn't it? that's off the top of my head

Yes. 4000 employees only but he's building a factory to manufacture electric cars on top of all the other stuff in Malaysia.

I can't understand a Brexiteer refusing to put his business firmly in the hands of British workers to boost the post-Brexit economy

oh I wasn't getting political, I was just telling you what part of the Dyson brand will remain in the UK, and I used the example I was sure of

The tax haven scenario is the only one that had a chance of happening so they're just useful idiots for the Right.

Yes, the pro-Brexit position of the left, that it puts a brake on globalism, is frankly ridiculous. As I said to Ray, do we really think that the corporations won't simply reach-around?

The election of Corbyn might well favour workers rights etc but the idea that he is the gateway to communism is preposterous. As I've also said before, the Labour Party is socialism in opposition, next to fuck all when in power.

Still preferable to the Tories though.

I understand, however I personally do think Dyson is doing his own country a disservice, having promoted and pushed so hard for Brexit, by taking so many jobs abroad which --were they created here --would certainly help the British People.
His words and actions are a total contradiction, there are plenty of unemployed people here in Britain who would love to work for such a well known firm and he seems to be turning his back on them.

Wales and Cornwall hardest hit as UK loses out on £11.4bn in EU regional funding after Brexit

A 22 per cent rise in support would have been due in the next EU budget

So much winning...

James Dyson has never been an advocate of British jobs for British workers. He truly is a globalist.

The Asian market is huge and growing. By the end of this year half the world's upper and middle classes will be Asian. "For global and regional businesses catering to the “average family”, servicing the needs and preferences of Chinese, Indian and Indonesian consumers will become a, if not the, core consideration".

He's being a smart businessman, not a hypocrite.

Having heard him say corporation tax should be abolished I think he is very astute and definitely into wealth creation (for himself) and despite his pro-Brexit stance he clearly doesn't really care about Britain at all.
Perhaps he likes the notion of our green and pleasant land and it being outside of the EU but as to its wealth and economy he clearly has no interest.

He doesn't like the EU because like Bamford (JCB) he got fined for breaking the rules.

That must have soiled his opinion somewhat, he doesn't like corporation tax and I also just heard him say the UK Government should pay tarrifs levied upon UK car exports in any future dealings if we are outside the EU.
Where does he think all this Government money will be coming from when he and the rest of his kind are brexiting themselves to sunnier climes?

To be fair he has put a lot of money into engineering apprenticeships in this country and even created the Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Not true to say he dosn't care about this country, has done more than most businessmen for young people in particular.
