One of my favourite reads. She's slightly weirder than many people realise.

And in great part responsible for what we now enjoy as the Lake District National Park.

Tell me about it - I have navigated Cockermouth tourists! lol

They, and followers of that soppy git Wordsworth, are a bit of a pain in the arse - but it pays the bills I suppose.

I hope you are in no way responsible. Image

Moi? Nope, not been for ages but as we owned a home in Maryport, we would take visitor's over there, though I preferred going to the Lakes. Some great memories of the area.

I know Maryport and Cockermouth reasonably well. We still pop over to Siloth now and then.

Not been down that way for a good few years now. My fav name around the area was a place called - Blitterlees - what does the name denote or represent, do you know, as there is usually a story behind the naming of places?

No sorry, never heard of it.

The nearest silly named place to me is...

Once Brewed (also known as Twice Brewed or Once Brewed/Twice Brewed) is a village in Northumberland, England. It lies on the Military Road (Northumberland) B6318. A motorist arriving over the B6138 from the east will see the place name shield "Once Brewed", while those coming from the west will read "Twice Brewed". (Wiki)

Two, slightly unsung, women who do...

Agnes Weston - worked tirelessly for sailors in the Royal Navy and was the first woman ever given a full ceremonial Royal Navy funeral.

Maria Dickin - founder of the PDSA.

Who is the female you most admire?

Grace Hopper would be who I paid homage to, for without her, we would have no internet as she developed computer programming.

My mum, she brought me into the world.
