There does seem to be a bit of a media blackout on what happened in Oldham.

Robinson claims the police brought a group called the Muslim Defence League to the meeting to cause trouble which could then be blamed on him and his supporters.

After what happened in Rotherham and other places I don't disbelieve him TBH.

Certainly if the violence had been instigated by Robinson and his supporters it would have been splashed all over the media.

But you're so desperate for validation you'd believe anyone or anything that aligns with your perverted construction of reality, wouldn't you Ray?

Muslim Defence League? Now that is funny, and no doubt formed because of EDL

Police blast 'ill-informed speculation' after Muslim Defence League and Tommy Robinson supporters come face-to-face in Oldham
The force said the 'small few' could expect to be 'investigated by us and brought in for questioning'

Police have hit out over 'speculation and ill-informed comments on social media' after violence flared at an election campaign event in Oldham organised by Tommy Robinson.

Police cars were smashed by flying objects and bricks and eggs were thrown.

Hundreds of people gathered as the far right founder of the English Defence League arrived in the Limeside area of the town on Saturday night.

There was an organised 'counter demonstration' by a group calling itself the Muslim Defence League.

Tensions flared on residential roads around Seventh Avenue.

Videos have been posted online.

In an update today, police said the 'small few' could expect to be 'investigated by us and brought in for questioning'.

But GMP said continued online speculation was 'proving unhelpful'.

No arrests are believed to have been made so far.

In an update on Sunday Chief Superintendent Neil Evans, Oldham's police commander, said police officers would continue to patrol the area.

He said: "Today, I know people are still feeling the effects of the disturbance that happened yesterday evening and there’s a lot of speculation and ill-informed comments on social media.

"When any type of event escalates in this way, it's extremely frightening and upsetting for people in the local area and for the majority who act in a respectable manner.

"No-one deserves this sort of thing to be happening in their hometown and I'm determined to - with the support of our partners and you, the people of Oldham - bring those responsible to justice."

Last night, in the immediate aftermath, Chief Supt Evans said police believed 'many of those involved were not from Oldham'.

Scores of police officers, armed with shields and batons, attempted to separate both sides during the incident.

What a load of idiots! And I mean every single one of them. Enoch Powell would be laughing his head off, his rivers of blood stuff seems to be getting closer.

What is the solution to keep such idiotic factions hell bent on causing drama? Why don't ALL of these fucking idiots just spend time with their families and enjoy life, rather than involve themselves in confrontation?

Just watched videos posted by both of the protagonists and they are both as bad as each other ---fucking scumbags out to cause problems and instigate violence.

The Old Bill were absolutely inept. Not one snatch squad to be seen.

He's running as an MEP so the police are meant to protect him.

Some of the people who were attacked were just passers-by, they didn't even protect them.

The police have double standards when it come to TR as he's been assaulted numerous times on camera and they've done nothing, which makes it look like the police are biased.

Working class people might be right to think that the government values investment from Saudi Arabia and Qatar more than it values them or their children.

Well they'd be pretty dumb if they didn't - since when did the controlling class give a fuck about the poor?

Still, good to see our Tommy desperately seeking membership to the controlling class - lovely jubbly.

Yeah, I know she's being serious mate.

It's her prerogative to vote for him and believe he is a campaigner for "true" Brits who is being mercilessly persecuted by the state for exposing the "truth."

Just as it's my prerogative to believe he is race hustler who is using fear and loathing about CSE to line his own pockets and start to a race war so that minority communities are hurt or leave the UK through violence and intimidation.

As part of our policing operation last night, officers engaged with a group intent on going to Limeside. In line with our duty to minimise disruption to the local area as much as possible, officers walked with the group and sought to reduce any problems on the route they took.

So he was telling the truth, the police did escort them there.
