Sun Is Out!

Postby measurer » Tue May 14, 2019 4:46 pm

Glorious weather for the UK, and I include Scotland in that as well!

Grass and garden done, so relaxing outside on the summer seat. Might take the dog for a walk when it's cooler down to the River Clyde. Bought a cooling down mat for her on Sunday (Aldi) and if you have a dog, I can't recommend it enough. Fantastic and does work.

What have you been up to in this hot weather?

You got hayfever Jack?

I have it right now - tree pollens are the worst for me. Even though I take antihistamines it doesn't always work, and I end up with a sore head - hate them!

It's a scorcher alright, hubby mowed the lawns yesterday evening and I've been chill-axing out here all afternoon, pooch has been pottering in and out between sunbathing and going in for some shade and his cool mat (they are brill, he's a very hairy curly breed and feels the heat a lot of the time).
Just waiting for the weather to cool off enough to take him down to the beach :doggy:

We've had better days than London, you cheeky fart! lol
Our good weather started last week - I'm sure we'll pay for it later on!

I always advise people to come here May or June. Those two months seem to be the best for the weather. Long may it keep shining!!

Well apart from last year the previous years down here were a case of guessing which month actually constituted summer in any given year, some years it was march and may, others june and october etc etc--it was fucking mad with July and August normally proving wet and overcast.

Last year was truly amazing with Sun endlessly shining from May right through to 2nd week in October, and I am hoping we get a repeat this year.

And might I also say I once spent time in the army, in beautiful hot weather, traipsing all the way from Aberfoyle over Ben Lomond, skirting Loch Long, and over more hills then crossing Loch Lomond and then marched on to the Mull of Kintyre and then by boat (with an engine - unlike the light 'fucking heavy bastards' alloy assault boats for rowing over lochs) to the Isle of Arran.
Then we ran up and attacked a position on the top of goat fell (in lots of heavy gear) and it was boiling hot.
Great fun! Apart from The Sabre Toothed Midges! And the scenery was amazing all the way.

Ardrishaig is where caught the Boat to and from Arran

Same for Wales (May or June) especially in rain catchment areas.
