Yeah  .... and what a load of rubbish. I kept watching thinking it might get better..... thankfully it was only 3 episodes! :thud:

Usually, anything starring SL is very good.... they lost it with this one!

Watching box set of Gold Digger on BBC iplayer, this series touches on a few often perceived taboos that might make some feel uneasy.

Bloody interesting :smilin:

Dispatches did a story on the empire that is Amazon, from working conditions to questionable gathering of personal information. Worth a watch, although it could've been longer.

I gave up on the first episode... such a shame as Sarah Lancashire is such a good actress, she was awful.in this .

I am on episode 3 but now I need a coffee break and a cigarette. It is rather good, although a bit ott in the fucked up families overkill script imo.

Good point, on the surface happy families could be really fucked up behind closed doors.

Gold Digger was fucking nuts! :yikes:

Lead actress Julia Ormond, fuck me she has changed since she was Brad Pitt's brother's wife in Legends of the Fall and they were at it :leer:

I am now watching the movie The Mule with Clint Eastwood --with him in it something is bound to happen, old man or not. Thinking of Grand Torino and him protecting "Slopes" as he referred to them in that movie.

The ending redeemed it a little but it certainly would've been better without the sexual weirdness.

Three part series starting tonight on BBC 1, and well worth watching as this adaptation tries to stay true to the original book with the invasion taking place in Woking and Surrey --sadly they make it Edwardian (1905) and not Victorian 1890's when the book was published and wherein Wells envisaged inter-planetary travel, lasers, chemical and biological warfare plus terraforming and even his predicted evolution of man in the shape of the more advanced Martians.
