Yello took sampling and loop based music to a whole new level and took advantage beyond most at the time by one guy arranging the samples in one city and sending them to the other guy.
Boris blank would put the samples together and send the finished tune to Dieter Meier the lyricist and vocalist not knowing what he would be adding to the music.
Dieter Mayer was a billionaire industrialist with a magical voice and an interest in modern music and became a very wealthy man all over again for his part in this magical duo.
Yesterday the 19th they released their latest record .... it's one thing growing old but seeing the icons of your day grow old as well I always find a bit disturbing!
