I’m trying to avoid it these days, it’s far too depressing.

Bored, I put on National TV awards.
I think I’ll check Netflix, appletv and Amazon prime quickly to get off it. :awesome:

The Old Man: Dan Chase (Jeff Bridges) is a former CIA operative who has been living off-the-grid in Vermont for thirty years. After killing an intruder who breaks into his home, Chase is forced into hiding. While in hiding, Chase rents a room from Zoe McDonald (Amy Brenneman), with whom he is forced to partner while on the run.

So far so good.

Stooo and Red, you must watch this, I’d be very interested in your thoughts.

83% on Rotten Tomatoes got me to watch it, and I feel it was rated too low.

I was initially struggling to think it would turn into something I’d like, I’m glad I persevered because it’s such an interesting movie as it very much covers a plethora of social issues, bias and bigotry in the world we live in today.

I won’t say anymore, apart from the fact I’ll watch it again soon, because it’s fast-paced and there is so much going on and I might have missed something.

The trailer reminds me of La Haine - a 1995 film starring one of my fav actors, Vincent Cassel.

It’s well worth a watch Red,  :awesome:

Red, I just watched your YouTube :yikes:

Wrong film old bean….

ATHENA a film by Roman Gavras is the one on Netflix

Red said it reminded him of La Haine, not that it was Athena.

Casssel in Mesrine: public enemy number one, can’t remember the other one?

Watch Athena and let us know your thoughts.

Also, please don’t switch off until scene “after the credits” - which explains a lot.

It’s nonstop, be aware I myself was thinking “where the hell id this going” to start with.

I’m glad I persevered, it raises a lot of social issues, as well as being entertaining.

Robbie Coltrane has died. He was fantastic as Fitz in Cracker, one I'd watch if they repeated it on ITV.

He was only 72, a bit too young to die. He had been ill for the last 2 years, so maybe it was cancer?
Very sad :(

I'm watching a new series on UK TV right now called "This England"
It's about how Boris handled Brexit, covid and his private life. It's the first episode, looks OK so far.

Enjoying Strictly. :smilin:

For once I agree with all the decisions so far. All 4 couples eliminated deserved it, imo.
I don't have any favourite celeb dancers this year, most of 11 left are equally good.
As for the pro's I'm blown away by new boy Vito Coppola. Speed, athleticism, technical skills, got it all, he sizzled during the tango. :wubbers:

From Scratch : Netflix :bawlin:

Amahle "Amy" Wheeler, an American student studying in Italy, meets and falls in love with Lino, a Sicilian chef. When Lino faces health issues and the couple's future is threatened, the two families come together.

Tear jerker .. found this by chance great acting from everyone.
