Stunning in a totally shocked way... wtaf... he's comparing his own bullying as an Italian in Switzerland to the actual abuse of migrants, lgbtq and females in Qatar. He must have been either drunk, heavily bribed, threatened or maybe he's just insane

The priceof almost anything let alone the beer, is pretty shocking. Who actually goes to a world cup? It costs about the same as a safari holiday, which is the kind of thing wealthy people do. Are footy fans stinking rich? I hadn’t thought so previously.

Suppose they save up. The price of accommodation is a rip-off too with some places charging £1000 a night for a basic room. Most now sold out.

I'm hoping Qatar win the opening match 1-0.

Not because I want them to win, but because it's the scoreline published in a Spanish sports newspaper, Marca, who claim that Ecuador have been bribed over $7 million to lose by that score.

Marca is a newspaper similar to our Daily Mail, complete with sensational headlines, so it is most likely a made up story, or an exaggeration of a rumour, but you never know.

it will be amusing if there is no cheating at all, and Qatar just happen to win 1-0 through fair play.

Not sure about the 'dick' bit...he's fluent in seven languages one of which being Arabic. Many Swiss are multi-lingual.

He spoke out before on womens rights in Iran who were banned from going to stadiums to watch football matches.

I don't know but given the situation there now he wasn't far out and it looks like things could be heading for a dramatic change.

Not many women in the Qatar crowd at yesterdays game. Unfortunately we still have to put up with women as pundits for the men’s game. No idea why they think they can compare women’s football to mens.

You sound like a work colleague I have, we are still trying to explain things to him, but may as well talk to the microwave, at least we know it’s working :bawlin:
