Because of the UK being so deprived of nature and wildlife as it is?

What do you expect?

Herds of Wildebeest majestically sweeping across the plain?

I know that you prefer conspiracy theories over factual facts but hey ho...

The quote was from Fawlty Towers and set in a hotel on the other side of Babbacombe from me in Wellswood and called the Gleneagles at the time. The Monty Python team holed up in the Links Hotel (now a charity shop with flats above) but Cleese and Connie Booth wanted it to be a bit more posh and ventured to a standard 3 star hotel in Torquay and were a bit surprised.

The Gleneagels is long gone now and has been replaced by the fittingly named Saches. :wubbers:

I know that, that’s why I posted it in response to the OP.

The deaf old bird with the hearing aid sketch.

“I wanted a room with a sea view.”

“There it is madam, over there between the sky and the land.” :awesome:

Which led her to say it wasn’t much of a view and his wildebeest retort.

Not verbatim? I don’t care.

No CT about it, just great comedy from Flowery Twats. :pmsl:

Yet I can recount scenes I saw ages ago

I always found it useful having a great memory, my mates all say I’d be their “phone a friend” and I’m pretty good at pub quizzes and trivial pursuit.

Plus I don’t get all fired up about stuff, as you do yourself.

I’m very much live and let live, and I don’t get all uppity about myself and I couldn’t give a shit what you, or others think of me.

Life is wonderful, I’m sorry yours is one of constant fretting about shit you can’t control. :awesome:

A person called Pink Teddy on Digital Spy used to troll there with lots of these random "can I sue..." threads. Blast from the past.
