What do you expect?
Herds of Wildebeest majestically sweeping across the plain?

I know that you prefer conspiracy theories over factual facts but hey ho...
The quote was from Fawlty Towers and set in a hotel on the other side of Babbacombe from me in Wellswood and called the Gleneagles at the time. The Monty Python team holed up in the Links Hotel (now a charity shop with flats above) but Cleese and Connie Booth wanted it to be a bit more posh and ventured to a standard 3 star hotel in Torquay and were a bit surprised.
The Gleneagels is long gone now and has been replaced by the fittingly named Saches.

I know that, that’s why I posted it in response to the OP.
The deaf old bird with the hearing aid sketch.
“I wanted a room with a sea view.”
“There it is madam, over there between the sky and the land.”
Which led her to say it wasn’t much of a view and his wildebeest retort.
Not verbatim? I don’t care.
No CT about it, just great comedy from Flowery Twats.
